Hi Rubie, I am researching the Burns family in Sonora. William's daughter Altha Jane Duckwall married James Burns. They had these children James F. Burns, Jesse Burns, Alvero Burns & Snowie F Burns as per the 1880 Tuolumne Co CA census. May have had other children, I don't know.

Christine,
The principal newspaper of Tuolumne County is the "Sonora Union Democrat," microfilm of which is available in such libraries as those of Columbia College. Believe their microfilm extends back to near the turn of the 20th century. Unfortunately the Tuolumne County Libary has no web site yet t

I have a copy of an invoice dated January 1932 from an H.E. Waltz that shows him billing his services as a Mechanic Electrician. He had two business locations, one in Stockton, California, and the other in Twain Harte, California.
Would anyone know anything about this man or his family?
For anyone who may have family buried in this cemetery, here is the burial
listed posted by the New Jersey Transit Authority. Please send this link on

I get the same redirect for all of the rootsweb counties IN California that
I look at.

Thanks, Cynde...
I did a search on Google and found a Henry Waltz who was a member of
the Twain Harte Chamber in 2000. It gave his address & phone number so
I'll follow up with that today. I'm wondering if this Christmas
display was the one on Twain Harte Drive across from the golf course.

Is anyone aware that the link to the Tuolumne County website is broken?
Everytime I try to access http://www.cagenweb.com/tuolquer.htm I'm
redirected to forward to this URL:

Is there someone on this list who should be notified?

Is there anyone on this list who can shed some light on an entity known
as the Twain Harte Mountain Club? I've tried looking for an email
address at the county historical society but none exists on their
website. I have just found some old documents, one of which is a

"Honorary Privileges" that include dancing, dining, lobby comforts,
radio room, card rooms, pool and billiards, sun bathing, showers,
massages, barber shop, valet service,
Dear, whom ever was looking for info on the Twain Harte Club.
I punched the name of the lodge into www.google.com and came up with several
possible place of info. Here is one http://www.twainhartecc.com/hist.htm
This looks like a all in one page for info on the area where the lodge was
located.
Hope this helps,

I live in California and the storm wasn't that bad and I am up and running.
I did however notice that on a few links for Tuolumne County it states
the site was hit by hackers, so maybe they are down and uploading the information
again.
Happy hunting

For those who felt that the World Trade Center acreage should have been turned into a memorial park for the victims, perhaps this will explain why New York hardly gave it a thought.
