My great grandmother Charlotte CHALK shows up in the 1881 British census in
Woodford, Wiltshire, England, with only her and her widower father George
making up the household. She is 25 and father is 68 there.
Later that same year, October 4, Charlotte married my great grandfather
Henry DYMER, who was born in Bulford, Wiltshire, in Port Elgin, Ontario,
Canada. I feel sure that these two knew each other in England, and had
arranged to meet again in Ontario.
That is the sum of my CHALK ancestor knowledge. I h

My illusive gggrandfather is Thomas Chalk born around 1826 in Limerick, Ireland. I found him on the 1861 British census living in Wednesbury Staffordshire England. He married Irish born Julia Flannery but date of wedding is unknown. Their children at this time were Thomas age 14, Mary age 8, Bridget age 7, John age 4, Sarah age 2, and James was a newborn. I am seeking information leading to the uncovering of more details on my gg
grandfather Hammond Chalk, born in Canterbury, Kent, UK around 1798, later to
become a surgeon (Union Medical Officer?) in Buckinghamshire, GB, he married
Mary Womersley in 1834, maybe London area, they had at least 4 children, Clara
(1836 Stratford, london), William Henry (~1838 in Wye,Kent), Walter Robert
(1839 Lowestoft, Suffolk), and Frank (date and place unknown).
He certainly seems to have moved around a lot and
I am looking for information on Sarah Chalk, Her father was a Thomas. I
cannot find my records that have her dates.
