I am sorry for an omission of detail - Although the marriages listed below are to be found in the Indexes the mother of Ernest is purported to be a Rose DOWDSWELL. Now whether Rose was married before, or has a pet name "Rose", or the information given by the 'teller' is wrong, I have no way of knowing yet. Hello All, If there are any other subscribers out there (or even for future reference) I am trying to put together a Family of CHALKs who were established in the Swansea area from the 19th century, but Family Legend appear to be getting in the way of Facts. So I am throwing myself on the mercy of other possible researchers to give me a nudge in the right direction if possible (?). So if indeed there are any Welsh Line or One-Name researchers out there are you able to help with this one problem area? I
