HORSE GOSSIP.
Asa Hemingway and son of Bridport have sold to H. W. Tillinghast of New
York city a pair of fine bay geldings, seven years old, for $ 1300.
One of them was sired by the Prebie horse and the other by Jesse
Lambert, and the dams of both were of Ethan Allen stock.

In today's paper there is an article about a large expanse of algae
that is now present at the north end of Lake George. This is bad
news indeed. The algae is a product
of over-development, aging septic systems and hard surfaces
surrounding the lake such that runoff goes directly into the water.
So say the experts. They also say that this algae is destructive to
the lake in that it can "suffocate" the lake... using up oxygen in the
