1. [CI] Off Topic - Re Amys- Humour [1]
Hi All You probably have noticed a bit of a flurry re AMY over the last few weeks, and confusing it is. I would just like to quote Ray Le Pivert from a 1997 posting: "The AMY name was probably the most numerous in Jersey during these times (1800's ed.) and researching can be a bit problematic." He knew something, sanity will return ;-) Regards Grahame Amy Sunny Brisbane, Australia Ars Eduro, Vita Brevis

4. RE: [CI] Joseph Charles Eager born 1838 living 1929 Jersey & De Fresne death [1]
Hi Nick Joseph Charles Eager's son George married Alice Victoria Drouin (my 2nd cousin twice removed). Amongst your fascinating account of Joseph, the one discrepancy I have is that he was born in 1848 not 1838 as you mention. Could you check your sources please ? Here is the dependency chart I have for Joseph, for which I have omitted the last two generations. If you would like a more detailed generation chart with some notes please email me privately. I also have a contact of a direct descendant who liv

12. RE: [CI] CIFHS [1]
Chris, I echo all your comments. I am catching up on my emails - so have read this sequence today. It is noticeable that there has been no comment (in two and a half weeks) on the suggestion of a questionnaire. As a CIFHS member living in England with different needs to someone on the island I would be keen for my views, to have a route to be heard... 13. [CI] Jersey AMYs [1]
Hello Janet, Julie, Pam, Clara, Grahame and all The Societe Jersiaise Annual Bulletin Vol XIII, part 3. published in the year 1938 carries a very detailed and thoroughly researched account of the Grouville, Jersey family AMY. It was written by the Rev. J. A. Messervy with additions by Charles Langton, both quite expert in this field. You know that the name AMY is exceedingly commonplace in the history of the Channel Islands and their account is only of the Grouville branch from the areas of Catillon

Alex, A huge thanks for these. My monies on: > bap.13.05.1733 mother: Esther Le Breton > g/p Jean Rocque & Marie Le Gallais sa fme This is what the AOJ has (taken with a grain of salt, or two).... but the date of 1733 - brings it more into line with the date I would expect it to be. The AOJ has Jean AMY md to Esther in 1717. An enormous thanks for the additional bonus with the son of Jean AMY and Sara FALLE! :-)) And Grahame.... 1881 CENSUS 13 Clarence Road, ST HELIER Source: FHL Film 1342348
