Hi Bill, Thanks for that information. Now I have a question for you. In the Civil War Index there is a Robert H Rooney who filed for an Invalid Pension in 1924 for service with G9 MA Inf. yet he is not listed with this unit. Do you know if the 9th went on to fight in the Spanish-American War? Eileen

Hello Kevin, I don't have any ancestors who were at Andersonville, but I have seen your postings regarding the services you provide numerous times. Each time, I thought to myself, "Now there is an angel." I just wanted to thank you. You are an invaluable resource to those of us who are searching for information on our families' war heroes. Thank you for what you do. Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Frye" To: Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2003 7

7. Re: [Civil-War-Irish] Re:9th MA Infantry [1]
Hi Eileen, It did and they fought in Cuba. At that time they were still known as the 9th Mass. I believe they're known as the 101st Infantry Mass Army National Guard. The armory is still located in Dorchester, the colonels portraits starting from Cass to today line the 2nd floor walls.
