Hi Gail,
Thanks for responding. I wish I could give you more--that is the extent
of my info on her.
Know she died in 1913 from newspaper account but nothing on her husband and
cannot find out where they were buried. Will keep your data on hand in case
it connects down the road. I do have two other Clayton groups(all of which
area probably related at some point)

Hi, everyone.
I'm seeking any info, and a connect, on an Esther Clayton. All I know about
her is that she was married to a William Harry ca. 1700 and the mother of
an Amos Harry.
Does this sketchy data ring a bell anywhere.
Thanks in advance for any assist.
Gary James
There is also a Lucy Clayton buried in the Yellow Creek Cemetary. This is
our lucy.

There was papa, (Chris) , Uncle Felix, Uncle Rube and Uncle Lamb. I checked
out a lot of the dates at the Yellow Creek Cemetary. Also, papa had a
sister named Mary, who died in an insane asylum. You are Kay, Mildred and
Ralph's oldest daughter, right?

P.G. Clayton's headstone reads that he was a corporal in the CSA. He was married to Eliza A. . She was born in Graves county Kentucky 3-24-1845 and died October 21, 1914. This is the information I got from the headstones at Yellow Creek Cemetary. There was a son named Glenn who was born 9-12-1881 that died in August 1882. There was also a daughter named Effie, born 6-1-1879 and died 7-26-1904. According to rumer, she was only three feet tall.
Virginia,
Many thanks for the research work on this Clayton. All I had ever
found was in the books mentioned, "HISTORIC SOUTHERN FAMILIES"
by Broddie, which was written in 1936. This clears another point for
me.
Many thanks, again.

Joe, I have a history of Henderson County, NC, which includes a sketch of
the life of one Lambert Clayton. He married on Dec 14 1782, Sarah, a
daughter of John D. and Nancy Brevard Davidson. It does not mention a son,
William, but doesn't purport to name all of the children. Those that are
named are John, Sr., known as "Swamp John", Ephraim, George, Rachel, who
married William Brittain, another daughter (unnamed) who married John Orr.

If i remember correctly, he was a corporal in the C.S.A. That was from the
headstone at Yellow Creek Cemetary.

Hi
I have two Thomas Claytons in my database
1. Thomas CLAYTON Bap 28 April 1784 in Kirtling who married Mary WARREN
2. Thomas CLAYTON Bap 7 Aug 1825 (no other details)
I have some problems because of the changing spelling of the name. Current
family members spell the name CLAYDON because the family member that
emigrated to this country spelt it that way. It would seem that his father
also spelt it the same way but earlier generations would apparently have
spelt it with the T, There is also a Claiden

This is so strange. My grandfathers name was William Chris Clayton. His
brother was Lambert Clayton. There was a John Henry that died. I wonder if
the M. in that John's name could have been Marion? My father's name is
Marion D. Clayton. Just as soon as I get all my information back on the
family tree, I will try to get it to you. There seems to be several missing
links in our family. Such as: There were 8 children born to one couple,
but it only goes on the talk about four of them, one of which is
I have the following information on Philo Glen Clayton:
His parents were Reuben Clayton (son of Thomas Davidson Clayton, grandson of
Lambert Clayton) and Mary Glen. Mary Glen apparently died within a few years
because Reuben married Elizabeth Blassingame in 1849.
He was born 3 Apr. 1845 in Hendersonville, NC. His family must not have
lingered that very long, because I have not found land records or census
records. He married Eliza Ann Kaler and they had the following children:
1. Mary Clayton
2. Will
