I am new to this list. I am looking for information on Myrta Edna
Cronk Buffington who patented land in 1931 at Eagle county. Section
33 -4 S-83 W and also Section 4-5 S-83 W...Myrta Cronk was born to
Oliver and Dianna Cronk at Furnas County, Nebraska.
questions: 1. apparently Myrta patented 320 acres. Is this ranch
land? what would someone be farming? seems pretty mountainous?
2. is there evidence of Buffington family today?
3. why were these land patents so "late" in history?
Also, apparent
in my last posting about Myrta Cronk Buffington who patented lands at
Eagle county in 1931...she would have been about 65 years old...was
20 in 1885 census for Nebraska!...rather old to be patenting
lands?...must have been quite a lady...was divorced soon after her
marriage to Charles Buffington, in 1886.

and
Myrta E Buffington patented at section 33-4S-83W and section 4
-5S-83W. in 1931....she would not have been young at the
time...possibly, 0ver 60!
love to hear from anyone with info! Liz of BC, Canada
