12. Re: [COFFIN] Tristram Coffin SR [1]
Well Mary You have about 100,000 cousins out here in network land. Oodles of stuff on Tristram, however you will want to but the "Coffin Family 1969" for $20 from the Nantucket Historical Assoc. I'm descended from 4 of Tristram's children, including John. Now there is no such thing as only being descended from John, the whole bunch are so intermarried that you tie into just about everyone on the island in one way or the other. So I have lots of this already in my file and can send you more if you let me k

Reply to Mary L. Jones: I believe your best source of information on Tristram Coffin, Sr. can be found in "The Coffin Family" edited by Louis Coffin and published in 1962. I purchased my copy about twenty years ago from The Nantucket Historical Assn. at Nantucket, MA for $20. I believe copies are still available. I am descended from both James Coffin who married Mary Severance and from (Lt.) John Coffin who married Deborah Austin. Louise in Montana palmrnch@midrivers.com

It had just been brought to my attention that there was a Judith COFFIN, w/o John STRANGMAN, and they had a son William, b. 1783-1785 on PEI (then St. John's Island) John died at sea shortly afterwards. What happened to Judith, did she remarry? William marries a Mary TAYLOR, an Islander, and moves to Newburyport, Massachusetts. 25. My Thanksgiving Dinner invitation [1]
Listers, My choice for a Thanksgiving guest would be my grandmother, Merle Lavaughn (Kyser) Coffin. She died in Brown County, Indiana of diphtheria in 1922 when my mother was only two years old, so neither my mother nor I ever knew her. She was a beautiful young girl of 23 when she married my grandfather, John Aldred Coffin, age 42. It would be nice if my mother could also be there to enjoy a festive meal with her mother and her mother's descendants. This was a fun idea, David. I'm looking forward to see
