1. Flag poll results [1]
Hi everyone, I told you that I would report back on the question of whether our flag image on the National page was incorrect, or a desecration. I think everyone that wanted to voice an opinion has done so, so I have tallied the results. 57 people said that the graphic was okay and they accepted it. 42 people said that it was not okay and they don't like it. So I believe the majority says that the graphic is okay. I may not agree with it but the majority wins (smile). Furthermore when I wrote to the Citi

Thanks to Alice Duncan, who submitted this newspaper article, which originally appeared in the Redding (California) Record Searchlight. Today is Wednesday, March 6, 2002. On this date: In 1902, Mrs. John Martin sued Jerry Culverhouse and the Weaverville Stage Co. for $25,000. Mrs. Martin and her ward were dropped off in Weaverville in the early hours of a stormy morning. Culverhouse refused to open the stage office for her to escape the rain, and she became ill as a result. Mrs. Martin also sued Mr. and M

It's a beautifully done graphic, tasteful and appropriate. My thought is that if someone is complaining about this, they have too much time on their hands and might want to volunteer at a soup kitchen or their local elementary school.... Nancy
10. Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody [1]
This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

12. Grandchildren [1]
An elderly woman and her little grandson, whose face was sprinkled with bright freckles, spent the day at the zoo. Lots of children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws. "You've got so many freckles, there's no place to paint!" a girl in the line said to the little fella. Embarrassed, the little boy dropped his head. His grandmother knelt down next to him. "I love your freckles. When I was a little girl I always wanted freckles,

Hi everyone, On one of our Lists we are having a discussion about the flag graphic in the upper left corner of our national page at http://www.usgenweb.org/ Some think it's okay, others think it's a desecration of our flag. I want to know what your opinions are. I've had 7 servicemen contact me about it and they are far from happy with it. So I need to know, as visitors to our sites, what your thoughts are. Thank you for taking your time to take a look at it. Karen Mitchell

The American flag has been the symbol of our nation's unity for more than 200 years; as well as a source of pride and inspiration for millions of American citizens no matter the form in which it is presented. I prefer to see the flag unfurled; however the outline image also holds a special place in my heart. My son was a member of the United States Baseball Federation, West Team in the 1990 Junior Olympics in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the parade of athletes the National Anthem was played; and w

25. FLAG [1]
Did the servicemen state what their objection was to the Flag? I personally like it. It is a National page representing the whole of our country. When people are wearing clothing, hats, ties, etc., made to look like our flag, why should we complain about the symbol of our country on this page. I think it is in good taste too. Leave it alone.
