Dear Ruby: I don't have any information for you but I do have some

returning to Oklahoma. The Oldhams were from Chariton County, Missouri,
which is mainly what I wanted to tell you. The Oldhams now in Pagosa Springs
are from the same family but from two different brothers back in t

Gladys,
I thank you again for responding , I simply do not so I will write to La
Plata again, the La Plata and Telluride marriages are listed as occuring on
the same day, month and year. I have eliminated the first two James
Bennetts , that you listed below, the Pueble one is an older man and the
couple are colored. the one in Boulder county was still married to a Davina
on 1910, while my grandfather was enumerated as single living in Telluride
in 1910. then in October he married Ali Hudgins. I may inv
These are the marriages that are listed on the CD Colorado Marriages
1859-1939
There were several James and James A that could be the one you are looking
for. None however were in the Montrose, San Miguel, or La Plata Counties
area. They were all listed as being married on the Easter Slope, close to
Denver.
The only marriage found for Arthur Bennett was 25 Oct 1910 to Ali Huggins
in La Plata County.
There were no Jim Bennetts listed.
Have you tried searching th old newspaper archives for Colorado Sta
Thanks for your reply. I have a certified copy of the marriage license and
applcation plus the certtificate of marriage between Arthur Bennett, and Ali
(Alice Amanda ) Hudgins, but they were married in Telluride. San Miguel
Unless for some reason they were listed in La Plata because he claimed he
was divorced there from his first wife. If there is actually one listed for
them in La Plata, I will write the Clerk again and get a copy of it. This
beginning to be a real mystery.
I would appreciate your lis
