Lynn,
I hope that this list is not so exclusive as to exclude all other COMBS (and
other name variations) from all other locations in the world.
I subscribed hoping to find information relating to the COOMBE family that I

Hello Lists,
Good Evening! I must apologies for creating so much hate and discontent in
trying to help a fellow genealogist in her request. I also need to apologies
for sharing the personnel email that was sent to me by the Indiana Gen-List
owner. I really feel that I did the right thing to help Nancy in her time of
need. Yes, These lists are for genealogy related topics only, but the fact
still remains that we are all here for each other as decent human beings
should be. We all need to cooperate and work

Hi Matt:
I just wonder if your John Joseph Combs could be a brother to my Levi Combs.
Family records say his father was Joseph Combs. The only Joseph I could
locate around the area at the time of Levi's birth was Joseph Combs who
married Millie Baxter. It is know that Levi had 2 other siblings Elias &
Elizabeth. There were most likely a lot more than that but I have found no
records of them anywhere.
Levi Combs was born 9 Mar 1807 in Fleming County, Kentucky

All,
My biggest and hardest mountain to overcome in my genealogy research is that for the parents of John Joseph COMBS, 22 Feb 1814 - 10 July 1900. He was reportedly born in Fauquier Co, VA. Several accomplished researchers believe that John Joseph COMBS is the brother of William Henry COMBS, 07 Apr 1811 - 26 Dec 1896, and son of William Henry Harrison COMBS. I have no proof to substantiate either claim. However, COMBS researcher Mary Combs Williamson, from letters dating back to the early 1960's stron

Hi, Matt--
I have a William COMBS (1794-) in Wilkes County, GA who married Sally EVANS 24 Oct

Sterling COMBS, and Emily, Jane, Sally, and Matt COMBS (!!!!!) . All I know about
this William COMBS,unfortunately, comes from A. Evans WYNN's book, "Southern

Hi everyone,
To avoid confusion I must explain what happened. Dennis posted a
reply from another list to this (COMBS) list. It is the other list that was
saying it was for Indiana only. The COMBS list is for any location and any
variation of the name. While his post may have been off topic, his
intentions were good and he has apologized. And everyone learned what
confusion can happen when you cross post to different lists!
Please let this drop. Thank you for your attention and coopera
