The counties are in southern central Colorado in a large alpine valley
called The San Luis Valley. The continental divide is the mountain range
to the west, the San Juan's and the mountains to the east are the Sangre De
Cristo's, together they form the valley. The southern end of the valley

boarders.

Yes, we did so to provide a list for the whole valley as it is somewhat
geographically isolated. It is common for the people to marry people from
other counties so it wouldn't be unusual to have ancestors in more than one
county in the San Luis Valley. I for instance have ancestors in Conejos,
Alamosa and Rio Gr
Thanks for your email and NOW THAT YOU GREW UP IN CONEJOS maybe you could help
me. You see I have a great grandma that we are having a problem with finding
our who raised her. She never knew her mother because she died when she was
born and so this has been a family mystery.
I got her marriage license from Colorado and found out that she was married in
ALamosa. Then I contacted the old Conjos catholic church and sure enough they
had her marriage record of June 5, 1882. It named her mother Mary GALLEGOS,

I would like to know if someone can do some research for me. My great
grandparents, Richard Edward Hudnall and Artie Ellen Turk who were married
in missouri in 1897, came to Colorado where my grandfather, Walker Edward
Hudnall was born in DelNorte Colorado on 9/24/1899 and his brother, Peter
Clay Hudnall was born 1/14/1904. I have not been able to get birth
certificates, but was wondering if there might be an announcement for birth
in the newspaper or if there might be some type of land record? I h
Several weeks ago, I started some web pages on Family Health History.
The first page discussed genetic traits at:
http://mlinda.hypermart.net/misc/genes.html
I've added two more pages on genetics, one offers some history at:
http://mlinda.hypermart.net/misc/genhist.html
the other lists genetic diseases recognized by NIH at:.

I hope this information helps you discover more about Family Health
Histories.

Linda,
Did you unsub yourself from the COGen list?

Jared,
The Saguache list and the Mineral list are combined into one list, the

Hello All!
I have an announcement.
I don't know how many of the subscribers to this list are primarily
interested in Chaffee county, but Chaffee will be splitting off from this
list and combining to the Park County list. If you would be interested in
being transferred, notify me and I will do it for you. Please put: "list
change" in the subject line, and I will get it done as soon as possible!
Thank you,
Lynn

What counties? Alamosa, Conejos, Mineral, Saguache, and Rio Grande? They
are the counties that make up the San Luis Valley.

Hi, Jared. I'm Linda, the county coordinator for both Saguache and Mineral
Counties. The state coordinator has controlled the mailing lists, etc. for
several counties. Please let me know if you and others interested in Saguache
or Mineral counties need independent mailing lists and I will see what I can
do about it.

Hello,
I'm new this Listserv. I found it on the GenWeb page for Saguache but the
name seems to suggest Mineral County. Is this Listserv good for both
counties? Any clarifications are appreciated.

Dear fellow searchers of Mineral Counties, etc.
I understand the frustration of trying to find things. I have been looking
in this area for the past year, mostly looking through US Census material,
1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920. I have sat infront of a microfilm reader for up
to 5 hours stretches trying to find someone, and not finding them. I have
been successful, though, in finding some if I continue to order films in
that area, and try different spellings. The soundex sometimes doesn't
always give you t
Dear Stephanie,
I'm unable to help you since I live in California. I too have relatives from
Colorado that I cannot verify info on even though I have Conejos County as
their locations along with dates and names. Hopefully you will have success in
having someone in that county help you. I too would appreciate help. Best
wishes is your search.

I'm researching the Richard & Nancy Melinda Echols Rumsey family along with

headed west in the late 1800s. Richard died Feb. 1895 in Manassa, Conejos
Co CO. Nancy & their youngest son, Seth, returned to Pope Co IL after his
death. Would like information on other members of the family. I can share
earlier information on the family. Thank you for any help. Judy in IN
