Dear Karen,
Thank you for the reply. I was just able to order a book through abebooks.com. They had one copy left! I was also able to obtain a copy of a reprint through a company I found on the web- Genealogy Today Marketing. These sell for $170.00. I am going to see if I can find the 1952 revision.

Dear Karen,
I am a descendant of Henry Comley and am acquainted with the book you have mentioned. Do you have a copy? Is it the book compiled by George Norwood Comley? The only one I have seen is in the antiquities room at the Cincinnati Public Library. I would love to find a copy of this book!
Please reply!!

Hi,
I'm interested in finding little bit more about my grandmother (Maud
Mellor Alice COMLEY). She was born in St Luke, London in 1888. She had

My grandmother married Arthur John Franklin PENNINGTON in November
1910. Sometime before 1925 they emigrated to New Zealand.
If anyone recognises these names I would lov to hear from them. I would

I don't have very much information on the William Comley that I am related too. All I know is he came from England, and he married Jane Whiting, and came to the United States about 1850 and landed in New York. I think he was born about 1824 in England. They had at least 4 children and they were all bor

Andrew recently sent me a copy of a paper published in 1939 "Comly Family in
America" by George Norwood COMLY which suggests the origin of the name:-
*The name has been found spelled Combly, Comely, Comley, and Comly [I think
that we have even more versions now] and it is said by some that the family
had the same origin as the Cholmleys, Chumleys, and Cholmondeleys. However,
no proof of this has been found by the writer and an entirely different
origin may be possible. It is said that there is an "agricult
