The quaint church was painted earlier. The cemetery is one of the best kept anywhere. I do believe our ancestors would be pleased. There is an opportunity to validate the paper trail back to Aquilla using DNA. Currently results through Aquilla's son Thomas are in. Additional male Compton volunteers who can verify their paternal line back to Aquilla Compton are needed. Optimally, one test per Aquilla son would validate the accuracy of the research that has been done, and give guidance to future research. Are there any of the son of Aquilla who do not have a living male Compton descendant? If so, the other sons' male Compton d

23. Another variation [1]
I think I've found another variation in the spelling of the Compton/Cumpton/Crumpton/Crompton name. The Rogers Arkansas Morning News, dated Sunday 8/15/99 listed the marriage announcement of Scott Compston of Rogers, AR. The announcement interested me because I'd never seen that spelling before and I'm one who had two of the variations in the same family. If anyone out there is interested in this spelling, let me know and I'll post the entire announcement. Ruby Price
