Grant and others I have an index of Cooke mariages for Northern Ireland 1845-1921. If you need a lookup, let me know. Note: If your ancestors were Catholic, I don't believe their marriage would have been registered before 1864. 4. [COOKE] Re: NEW LISTOWNER/ROLL CALL [1]
Hi All, Below are 2 "offshoot" lines that I'd like to extend and below that is my direct line. My line picked up the (e) in Cook(e) in the 1850's with my Grt Grd Father Charles L. Cooke; however, the (e) does seem to change with generations depending on the accuracy of the persons recording the name.. Our MAIN Brickwall is determining "officially" where our Walter came from and who his parents were.. Presently 4 of us, that descend from Walter, have submitted our DNA to http://www.cookfamilygenealogy.com/DN
5. Re: [COOKE] NEW LISTOWNER/ROLL CALL [1]
Greetings from Louisville! My Gr Gr grandfather was Charles Boswell Cook (1794-1861) who died and is buried in Trimble Co KY. My brick wall starts building with Charles' father -- Alexander Cooke who d. 1841 and is buried in unmarked plot in Trimble CO., KY., also. Other family researchers have said Alexander's wife was Martha Murphy who was b. Ireland. I have never seen one shred of proof of this. Both Charles and Alexander have been placed at various times in both Culpeper Co VA and St. Mary's Co
6. [COOKE] (Cooke) William Cook(e), Ireland, Canada [1]
My William Cook(e) is said to have come from Armagh, Ireland but this is not verified. We know he was born aprox 1800 in Ireland, married Alice Morton(born 1811) and came to Canada aprox 1836/37. Had children Fred, John, William, Mary, Elizabeth, George, Thomas. I would really like to know ship he came on, where they came from in Ireland, his parents or siblings, etc. They settled around the Mount Forest area in Bentinck, Grey County, Ontario and eventually the family moved to Michigan (George) and th

My Father is William Donald Cooke (born in Philadelphia, PA.) My grandfather is also William Donald Cooke (born in Galeton, PA.). He had four sisters, Monica, Lefa, Edith and Marion. Their father was Marion Richelieu (?) Cooke. I am not sure when he was born. His father may have been Albert Cooke. I don't have much more information.

Hi, I have been trying unsuccessfully to "unsubscribe" and had my e.mail returned. Could you please "unsubscribe" me, for the present at any rate, as I have been ill and am only just beginning to get back my health. Our Cookes are in West Galway ...I have never seen anyone from that area writing to the list.... I'll get back to you when I am more able to research the Cookes. Many thanks, Freda Cooke. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sheila Anderson-Lewis" To:

First let me start by saying a roll call is exactly what I needed! Thank you for asking those of us searching for Cooke's to list our brickwalls. It is wonderful to see how many of us there are who are still searching for our family lines. My brickwall: I have found a name for my GGGGreat Grandfather, Joseph Cooke, listed on the marriage certificate of his son William Cooke, who married Mary Hudson in 1853, Christ Church, Heaton Norris. The only information that I have and that the marriage certi

Hi Sheila! My name is Laura Ferguson. My great-grandfather was Francis A. Cooke. Most of the information I have about him was taken from his obituary. He was born October 24, 1837 in Liverpool, England. He "went to sea" at the age of 16 and "followed the sea" for 16 years. He came to the U.S. in 1867 and served for 2 years as a gunner for the revenue service. He married Cora Brearley in Philadelphia, in 1869, and moved to Emporia, Kansas, where he worked as a master painter for the Santa Fe Railroad

Hi Sheila et al, My connection to the Cooke name is pretty obvious, and I'm a very recent immigrant to the US (1999). Our end of the Cooke family can be traced back to the 1750's in Crowland, Lincolnshire (England). More recently there is a strong connection with Stockport, Cheshire (England).
