1. [COUCH-L] Why must we bicker? [1]
Hello gang, I have enjoyed the service that Bill offers, and I beleive that he is undertaking a very time consuming task to help ALL of the researchers who are working on the COUCH line, why must we have this little coment by a person who feels he has been overlooked by this person, turn us all sour?, can we start over on level ground?. I am pleased with the work Bill has done, and contuinues to do, are we trying to chase him off?, do you have the time or resources to take over?, if not then lets all

Nicholas Couch: I couldn't help but read the letter you sent to Bill. I sent him some corrections some time ago but haven't checked his web page. By any chance are you related to George Washington Couch b December 16, 1848 in Des Moines,IA. This branch of the family went on to settle in and around Belle Fourche, SD. I have gone back as far as John Couch b 1761. If you are related, maybe we could exchange info direct. Pat Couch-Wood
3. Re: [COUCH-L] Bill Couch and list [1]
I've been reading an awful lot of nonsense on this list since I posted my little message Thanksgiving night. I've never seen this much traffic here. I've tried sending some private messages to clear up the obvious confusion (how many of you actually READ my original message?), but that hasn't worked, so I will bow out with this one and maybe you all can get back to whatever it was you were doing before Thursday night. Bill, you missed a couple of links to me when you deleted me from your site. The URL for

But would one in the bedroom with the door closed have picked up the smoke? Maybe one just outside the bedroom would be better. Where was the one that went off? 8. [COUCH-L] Bill Couch and list [1]
Bill, Keep up the good work! I for one understand that other things in life come up we have to take care of first. The web page as much as we dislike it has to come second. I also understand that unless the person that claims errors sends proof of the mistake you can't just up and change it on someone's say so. I think like others on this list. Let's all play nice and do what the list is for and find our families. Jamie Has any one seen Jesse Couch? http://members.tripod.com/~LadyValois/index.ht

ATTENTION: I want everyone to do me a favor, and do it quick. I just got a rude awakening this morning, and fortunately for us it was a false alarm, but I want to make sure no one else has to come to this realization when the danger is real. I got up to get ready for work this morning, and popped a bagel into the toaster on my way through the kitchen. While waiting for the bagel to heat up, I went back to my bedroom to get out my clothes, etc., and I guess because of the draft from the open windo

I must come to the defense of Bill as well. He has helped me so much with my Couch line. I found an error in a census transcription, and between the two of us, we got it corrected. Bill has done a wonderful job for the Couch decendents and I hope that he continues his great work. Though I am still looking for my connections, he posted my line on his site very quickly. The great thing about 98% of all genealogy researchers is the fact they we all work together for a common goal! We may never get to mee

Good for you Bill. Nicholas needs a good lesson in manners. It is rather difficult to just jump in there and change something unless he is specific about it. He needs to learn patience and understand that your site is one of the best out there. Keep up the good work. Marcy in California

Bill, If you cannot correct the references you have on your web site at http://www.couchgenweb.com/ to my email address and web site, or even respond to any of my emails asking you to make the corrections, what am I to do other than make sure that everyone in the genealogical community knows how you refuse to correct the erroneous information you publish to the world on your site? How is anyone to believe >anything< you have published? I ask once again, please change all references to nbcouch@idcomm.com

Dear List, I am amazed at some of the postings i read. First of all Bill does do a woderful job with his websight and can not always do what we ask right away. But i think everyone misunderstood Nicholas Couch's Email. I admit it sounded a little harsh! it's not that the Genealogy information was not correct. It was that Nicholas Couch's Web address and Email address on the CouchGenweb page were incorrect. and as we know you can't Email a person with the wrong Address. Maybe he felt that Bill Couch wa

Kay, I'm not sure if one in the bedroom with the door closed would work either...but the one that went off was just outside the bedroom door in the hallway...not more than 1 1/2 or 2 feet from the door. Bill Couch (or anyone else) On the webpage < http://www.couchgenweb.com/family/richard.htm > Richard R Couch and Catherine Jones are both shown as being born in Powdersville, Anderscon Dist, SC. What is the source of this birthplace (and date) info? And her surname Jones? Does anyone know who either of their parents are? Might Richard R be the Richard who was in Carroll County GA 1840?
