My Coulter ancestor was Archibald Coulter who appears in York (now Adams) County, PA between 1762-1769. He was born in 1743 from his gravestone. Where he was born or who his parents were is unknown at this time. My G.G.Grandfather was one of a family of Coulters who also left Ireland and went to Glasgow duing the potato famine. Two known brothers came to New Zealand James b. 1838 and Archibald (my relative) b. 1841. Their parents were Joseph Coulter m.to Mary Weir. I wonder whether these brothers were part of your Coulter family as little else is known here in NZ.Since there were so many of them I guess they all scattered to different parts of the globe? Samuel Cowan was killed and scalped by Indians returning to Houston's fort to warn of an impending attack. Accordin
