Sheila, during what time frame and in what area are you looking at? My
husband's Pugh and Kronk/Cronk ancestors came in through Philadelphia about
1700-1752. However, his Coulter ancestors seem to have entered through
Virginia and worked their way up the coast of Maryland and Delaware before
1719 and into PA, MD, and VA later. His Doty ancestor arrived on the
Mayflower. Between 1855 and 1890, immigrants entered through Castle Gardens,
off the coast of New York, in addition to many other ports of e
I am looking for information on the family of Mary E. Coulter who was
married to my GGgrandfather Marcus Lafayette Hemeter. Her birthdate was
August 8, 1859 in Covington County, Mississippi. She died May 31, 1896.
Her parents were Benjamin Peter Coulter and Mary Ann Brady.
If you have any genealogy information on this family please contact me.

Hello Coulter Researchers,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a line of Coulter's in North Carolina

My McLaughlins came from Irealand to Baltimore. Other major ports of
entry on the east coast would be Philadelphia, New York and Boston.
There were other smaller ports along the Carolinas and even New Orleans
seems to be a major port though I guess it really isn't east coast.
Canada also had ports that were busy.
Dear fellow genealogists,
Can someone tell me what other ports of entry our ancestors used on the
East coast? I know ,of course , about Ellis Island. But would they have
come through NY to settle in PA? Or was there a port in PA? Boston is a
port of entry also, right?
Good luck searching to all!
Thanks,
Sheila
