His Doty ancestor arrived on the Mayflower. Between 1855 and 1890, immigrants entered through Castle Gardens, off the coast of New York, in addition to many other ports of e

My Patrick Coulter was b@1830 in Ireland. His parents were James & Julia Coulter from Ireland. Don't know if he had any siblings. He signed up for the Civil War in Illinois, in Phil in 1866 after discharge and Northumberland/Schylkill area until @1883 when he moved to Gloucester City, PA. His children's names included his parents names and in-laws names but no Simon. If I ever find a Simon in my connections, will let you know. judy From: Bob Long To: COULTER-L@rootsweb.com Subject:

6. Port of Entry [1]
My McLaughlins came from Irealand to Baltimore. Other major ports of entry on the east coast would be Philadelphia, New York and Boston. There were other smaller ports along the Carolinas and even New Orleans seems to be a major port though I guess it really isn't east coast. Canada also had ports that were busy.
7. Immigration Port of Entry [1]

But would they have come through NY to settle in PA? Or was there a port in PA? Boston is a port of entry also, right? Good luck searching to all! Thanks, Sheila
