Well, I found some free time and I have to get these files checked before I can go any further with the reconstructing of the Cox Coop Library, so I started going thru all the sections ... Got them all done except for Census Records and Marriage/Divorce Records before I gave out for the night! Looks like about 1/3 to 1/2 of what *was* in the Cox Coop Library is still in there, so probably 700 records would be my rough guess right now. Add to that the 1000-2000 records I have waiting for formatting and

Although you don't know birth and death dates, do you know the approximate years he lived? Could he perhaps be the Thomas Cox originally from either Canada or England who farmed north of the Rock Lake area of Towner County in the early 1900s? If so, check out the Towner County GenWeb site and, if you have a subscription, the Ancestry.com Census images. There was a Thomas Cox who farmed in that area for quite some time. My Cox family did too, but they are not related. I could imagine he could have ret

Not sure where the name John ranks now. In the 1850 Census (That's about where we are looking) John was the number 1 first name. Cox was number 48 surname. Hi everyone! Well, taking a little longer to get things organized than I thought -- there's a lot more stuff to be done than I thought, I guess!!!
