Hi Folks
Here is a little mystery on what is accurate with the state
records.......
Esther Leith ONIONS is the daughter of Mary Ann HAYES (then BAKER and
then ONIONS) and her second husband Samuel ONIONS. Her birth and her
baptism have been registered with different birth dates.
NSW V18621955 45A or Reg # 1955 V45A has her date of birth as 1862
from the Presbyterian denomination for the parish of Sydney - Scots
Church - (to me, that is a type of baptism)
- copy states that date of birth was 29 Aug 1862
This is a list of Mary Ann HAYES-BAKER-ONIONS' descendants or their
spouses who I know were WWII servicemen. I have checked the women under
their maiden names but I will have to check under their married names -

1. As advised in December 2002, the book Cross Country Charles Cross

release on 30th November 2003 at Windsor. It is anticipated that the A4

I don't see why not. I have in my possession The original birth certificate
of John Ashby Grey which he brought out from Engalnd. Also his army service

to Gallipoli and Eygpt with him.

Hi Heather
I did not have either boys in the database but I have added them both now -
sorry they were missed from the WB Register.
They will be included in the Family Tree Book for William BAKER (son of
William BAKER, Gentleman/convict).
Will also update the Cross Country Family Register database.
What a wonderful way to end the year after the loss of your two brothers.

Evening all
This list has been very quiet lately.
1 Would anyone like to post your connection with the CROSS-FLOOD families
please, to keep the list moving and to exchange details?
2 Is anyone researching the families overseas? How?
3. Is anyone attending the Reunion at Windsor this next week-end? I will be
there and I was wondering if I would get to meet any of the list members!
Thank you

Hi everyone
I am asking for suggestions, please. Suggestions only, as I am not doing
the book on my own. Too much work and I know from experience as I have
produced one major book and several others.
If a Family Tree book was to be produced on the Charles CROSS and Rose FLOOD
and their descendants, what would your requirements be:
Time period - what date?
Format or style of the book?
Size of Font, layout?
format of descendants tree?
??
We have over 5000 names of descendants - some in twice. Should the
Hi Everyone,
I think the idea of the Volumes is the only way to go...As for format, then
I'm confused. As a matter of fact the pile of names on the Chrsitopher line
who still have no descendants recorded is my biggest time consumer. To
date, I have 2591 descendants' names recorded but not all of those have
even got a birth year yet...poor things!!
Anyhow, we have sold our business..the Coffee Shop and are now "full time
family historians"...what a title!!

Greetings Listers,
Unfortunately, we were not able to make it to Windsor for the reunion,
although we love to visit that area and along to the
Wisemans/Lautondale/Mangrove area. Also, a walk along part of the old
convict built Great North Road is always great, especially when the flannel
flowers are in bloom.
A new booklet has been published, with information and maps showing how
different parts of the road may be accessed.
Could someone please give a brief report on the Windsor reunion for those of

wife. Will photocopy relevent references for you a soon as possible & send
you a hard copy.

It would appear that Rev Richard Hill was a very difficult man to get on
with although he was a very prominent citizen, was instrumental in the
convicts at Hyde Park Barracks receiving religious instruction at the
barracks as well as at the church. His wife, however, was deemed suicidal &
attempted to commit suicide
Hi List,
Another associated family of Charles and Rose CROSS is through their
daughter Elizabeth, and her husband, Richard HAYES. (Three England
convicts).
James Hayes married Mary Ann GALLAGHER, who, in turn, was descendant from
three Irish convicts.

Hi every-one
Just a quick note to say "I am home again" after a very successful week-end
in Windsor.
Thank you to Peter and Lesley for the great organisation. My sister, Leanne
and I really enjoyed ourselves.
I may not have gained a lot of information on the week-end, but I certainly
made a lot of contacts. Some I have already emailed, and if I was to
contact anyone else, please remind me.
I will post more details as I do further research.
Again, thanks for the great week-end and great to meet so man

Dear Lorrae
I am a descendant of Peter McIntosh and Margaret Johnson, through son Charles. I have been researching this family for
years and this is the first contact I have had for James Tyrie. I am also in contact with researchers for Charles's
youngest sister Catherine. I would be interested in contacting your James researcher.

Peter McIntosh & Margaret Johnston have a son - Charles Henry McIntosh
(1840-26Jun1881). He married 1861, Izetta Rose (1839-1903).
Izetta's parents are Richard Lionel Rose (1789-1872) and Susannah Cross
(1793-1872). (see "Rose of Bellona" )
Susannah Cross is the daughter of Charles Cross (1749-1835) and Rose Hannah
Flood (1758-1836) - both convicts on the Neptune 1790.
Susannah Cross' youngest sister, Elizabeth is my ancestor and thus my
connection.
I have been contacted by another researcher who is desc
