I live in Meriden, and might be able to get down to City Hall and look for
the marriage record, possibly this week. If I find it, I will transcribe
what I find, and you can write to Meriden City Hall for a copy of the
original record. If, as I suspect, they wer

SZYMASZEK (b. 1893) married Caroline COSS (b. 1894) around 1913. I'm
looking for any information on both families, especially information
about thier immigration to the US. Thanks a ton!

Yup thats them! John's mother was named Ellen. I found that 1900
census record too! I didn't know what John's father's name was
because I couldn't read it on the census but it started with a J, so
Josef would probably be correct. The census seem to say they were
naturalized in Alabama. That immigration record would be great!
Where did you find it? Thanks!

Hi Michael,
According to the 1930 Census both John & Caroline were born in CT.
Do you know who his parents were? I found a John, same age in 1900 with
parents Jonnie? and Ellen. They immigrated in 1887. I have a possible
immigration record for 1888 for a Josef SZYMASZEK.
Let me know what other information you have.
Kind regards
Darlene

If what you are looking at is "AL" then that stands for alien. If they
were naturalized it would have a year in that column.
You might want to check out the Polish Genealogical Society of CT and the NE
webpage for lots of helpful info at www.pgsctne.org

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find an immigration record for
Martin Kos and Justine Marcinek. They appear on a birth record as the
mother and father of Caroline Coss, born in 1893 in Meriden, CT. The
1930 census says that Caroline's parents were born in Poland.
Thanks!

Hi,
I was wondering if there are any Connecticut Vitals online. I have access to Ancestry's 1959-2001 but I am trying to find a marriage between 1918 - 1919.
Amelia Tkaczuk had two children:
Helen b. 1915 in Philadelphia, Pa.
Stanley b. 1919 Hartford CT.
We always thought William was the father of both children until we found his WW1 Draft Registration which states he was single. In the1920 Census William, Amelia & children were living in Hartford.
By 1930 William was not with the family anymore a
That would be fantastic!! Thank you so much!
