2. Re: [CT-Polish] Death certificates [1]
Hi! I just went to the Town Hall in the city he lived in & got the death certificate there. Dennis Gnatowski wrote:What is the best way to obtain a copy of a CT death certificate? Is it better to get it from a government agency (pricey) or do some CT state libraries have copies on microfilm and offer photocopies at a reduced price? I have done both in the past and have found the public library method cheaper and more responsive. What is the preferred method in CT? Thanks! -------

Dear Dennis, Searching and making copies of death depends on the years(s) you need. Large libraries have the older records only, but don't usually have the extra staff to do a search. Town Clerks have the newer records. If you do not have a death date and town, you may want to hire a CT Professional Genealogist that knows how to find this information for you. Obituaries are a good source too. Deborah Tajmajer in Connecticut ---- In a message dated 9/15/2005 2:00:45 A.M. Eastern Daylight Tim

Hi David, I have Albina Dawidowicz, born about 1921, if you think that's a possible spelling variation. Below is her obit. I'm researching the Januszewski line. Chandra Albina (Dawidowicz) Januszewski, 80, of New Britain, died after a courageous battle with cancer, in the loving arms of her family on Friday, (June 22, 2001) at New Britain General Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 60 years of Stanley B. Januszewski. Born in East Hartford, she was a lifelong New Britain resident. Mrs. Januszewski was

Thanks to Allen & Darlene Dowhaniuk for the census look-ups. Their help has been valuable today. On to another request: Naming patterns What would the English version of the following names be: Valenty Constanti Alpholinia Thanks David -----Original Message----- From: [mailto:addowhaniuk@shaw.ca] Sent: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 12:31 PM To: CT-POLISH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CT-Polish] Dawidczyk
11. Re: [CT-Polish] Dawidczyk [1]
David, We had a Walenty too. He ended up going by Valentine. Of course, the W in Polish is pronounced as a V, so it makes sense... I would expect Frank to have been Franciczek in Polish. Perhaps the brothers used middle names? I agree with Darlene that Pauline is a logical modification of the girl's name.
