George Benjamin Dolbeare born Dec. 25, 1753, New London married Margaret Fox about 1775, New London. Margaret is the daughter of Ezekial Fox and Mehitable Lamson. Did George Benjamin and Margaret have a son George who married Sarah Bradford in 1797? Are there any more children born to George Benjamin and Margaret? Henry A. Baker, in his "History of Montville, Connecticut", also says: This Samuel Holmes was a resident of the North Parish and died about 1774, aged fifty-two years. His will, dated August 4, 1774, names his wife as executor, but does not give her name. He says there are eleven children, and only names one, his daughter Prudence, "who is incapacitated to help herself." My gr grandfather's brother was Thoms D. Cahill. I have info that says he d. Sept 1937\8 in Norwich, CT, during a big storm (hurricane). Don't know if he was a victim of the storm or just happened to die then. He m. Georgia Dunton 22 May 1905 in Maine. Whe was from Portland, ME. If you have German-speaking relatives who lived in Norwich between 1857-1901 you will find a goldmine of information in the records of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. This was the German-speaking church and their records include births, marriages, deaths, and confirmations. These records include the birthplace! The records are written in the old German script, and they are in the German language as well so they can be hard to read. The confirmation record for my relative gave the exact birthplace

In later years ca 1800 there were PRATTs living in the area of Providence, RI, later moving to the area near Voluntown in Washington County, RI. It's a long shot....
