Kenneth Lord's book has Thomas dying after January 29, 1644, probably at

Steve,
I went to your web pages and found that you have the Bowman line listed. I
have a Thomas Chaddock (Chadwick) married to a Margaret that might be a
Bowman. The suposition is based on the fact that the Bowmans and Chaddock
were in the same area and Thomas and Margaret have a grandson named Bowman.
I am trying to find Margaret.
This is what I do know:
Thomas Chaddock
+ Margaret ?

I purchased my copy of the Lyme Vital Records from the New England

Hi all,
I would like to ask a favor of anyone who wants a lookup, please
include the town in the request. I haven't gotten the name index yet,
but I have indexed the towns myself. Looking thru 104 books for one
name is just a little difficult.
I have the FTM CDs, "Ct Genealogies #1", and, "New England Families #1".
Both of these are scanned pages of actual written genealogies, Ct
Genealogies includes Jacobus' "Families of Ancient New Haven". Also have
James Savage's "Dictionary of First Settlers".

Does anyone have any information of George Durant (Durrant) and Elizabeth
Blake - one reference referred to her as the "widow Blake." I understand
their children - or some of them - were born in Lyme.
David
Hi David:
Thank you so much for that information. I descend from son George:
>George Wade b. abt. 1684, d. April 28, 1762 in Lyme, CT. He married
> Elizabeth Durant July 14, 1708 in Lyme, CT.
I thought I had George's wife's name incorrect in my file, since that was his
mother's name too. (Elizabeth Durant). Do you know who the younger Elizabeth
Durant's parents were?
Also, I only have 7 children: Hannah, Eunice, Mary, Elizabeth, Martha,
George and Joseph. You mentioned 8, which one did I miss?
Thanks very much, Robert, for the time you took to look up all these
references for Hannah(Anna/Ann) BROOKS, and all the LESTERs FOXs for us.
I'm sure there are many descendants reading or who will read in time to
come, this presentation you have laid out for us all.
And while I'm handing out bouquets, I want to thank everyone who has
added to this information on all the marriages, branches, etc. of this
family.
I had wondered who (for sure) was the Mary Lester who married John Rude,
Jr, and was happy t
here's an idea to explore to see if your families both did in fact come from
2 sections of ct -
go the the local FHC and in the MICROFICHE of CT, check out where those
families are predominately located - you may find some great clues that way -
it's worked for me!

Hi Norman,
YES.....CT is great! I remembered your experience with so much help from
Carla and the others, they are all wonderful "family" and if we all
exchanged surnames, we'd find some that we share with most who are tuned
in to this list. Great folks!
BANCROFT.....hmmmm. Were they the Massachusetts Bancrofts from around
Groton, Reading, ....that area, or were they the Windsor line from
Ephraim, or John.... ?
Check Savage's Genealogical Dictionary of New England .

Hi:
I recently received this information about a female ancestor that
married into my Long Island bunch.
Alternative spellings could probably be Kazar, Kesur, Kezer, etc, etc
"John Howell married Hannah Corwin, widow, on 19 June 1794, at
Mattituck ( ). She was the widow of Jonathan Corwin, who died on 4 Jan
1785 (314), and who had married Hannah KASAR, of Norwich, Connecticut,
on 4 Feb 1778.
The widow, Hannah (Kasar) Corwin, was baptized as an adult, with her
children, on 30 Oct 1785, at Mattituck, Long
Thanks Brenda; you sure keep us abreast of what's going on. The NL
Historical Society needs slightly larger quarters, too, as it's
reputation is expanding as more and more guests go there to research and
learn. I got some good pictures of the Shaw Mansion (NL Hist. Soc.)
while we were in CT.

While I have no proof of identity, there was a Nathan LORD, b. 17 Nov 1781,
Hadlyme, CT, son of Theophilus and Abigail (-----) LORD. Probably the

Looking for info on Adeline Watrous, born 1808, wife of John Fish.
Listed on 1850 census in Groton, Ct.
Also Susan Niles, b abt 1825, wife of Jesse Daggett of Ellington, I

Cara,
I have no personal knowledge of the Mumfords, but I do professional
research in Windham, Tolland and New London Counties, in addition to
being a lookup volunteer in Ashford, Windham County. I do know some
PHILLIPs and might be able to find a little for you there, but how much
would be hard to guess. If I can be of service, let me know.
