Does anyone know the following about my Cuban grandmother:
-- The names of her maternal grandparents?
-- The name of her paternal great-grandfather?
-- The place of origin in Spain, for her paternal line of Rodriguez
ancestors?
My grandmother, Ignacia Isabel Rodriguez Valdes, was born in Rincon
(next to
Havana) Cuba, on July 31, 1903.
I am setting up a BILINGUAL-SP-L@rootsweb.com list for anyone with a
genealogical interest in any Spanish speaking country. So many of
our ancestors came from Spain to the US, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico,
and South America. Sometimes they went through several of these
countries before they stayed put! I believe we will all benefit

and interested in all of these countries.
When I first started CUBA-L, I immediately received requests for

mother's family. The information we have is regarding his grandparents:
Octavio PEREZ FLEITES (1881 - 1966), born in Camaguey. His father was
Francisco PEREZ AVILA, his mother, Rita FLEITES PEREZ.
Octavio married Juana Isolina ALVAREZ MOREL (1886 - 1950). Her parents
were
Jose ALVAREZ MEJIAS and Ana MOREL NAPOLES.
