well, not so, because the sent the bill with the result of the research. So
they are depending on my honesty to pay for something I have already
received. And I did send a Personal Check, and they sent it back. Also this
is not a privat researcher but the Archive in Cesky Krumlov.

Jan Hus Church had a safe "misplaced" with church
records in it...I wrote for my grandparents marriage
certificate.. they were married in1905.. The church
suggested I write to the Presbyterian archives, they
did not have any records for Jan Hus either.. you have
to get the info from the city of New York, marriage
license registry.. a family member who lives in Long
Island visited the church to see if there was any
possibility for mistaken reports, alas.. its true..
records just got "misplaced"..Do you know
Leroy: If Hubl and Hubel are the same names (and there is good reason to
think that they are), then Hubl means "little hill". At least it does in
Swiss German. Perhaps there are also other meanings. I'd be interested in
learning of them also. Kenn Hubel (North Liberty, Iowa)

I dont know if this was discussed in the list before.
It4s very simple to protect your PC - no worm or virus has a chance.
Only disable SCRIPT-mode in your OUTLOOK.
OK: some of the beautiful layouts of an email will not work. But email
should be a kind of fast communication - not to make pictures.

Please advise as to the anti-virus source you use....I am very worried
that I do not have adequate protection with my paid provider. If the
list does not permit it, please send to my own e-mail address. Thanks
so much.

I've got one census record that lists my dad's uncle Vandy as "Vandy" but
one that says "Wencel" as the way his dad before him was.....so maybe Vandy
can also be Vencil/Wencil.

Hi Mike!
Thank you for giving the Okres on that Lovcice, because it is in Moravia.
The other 2 that are in Bohemia have their records stored in Prague and
Plzen, and that's nowhere near NE Bohemia!
Lovcice (German name Gross Lowtschitz) kept its records right there in
Lovcice. They are stored in the Brno Archives and begin in 1717. Birth,
marriage and death records for Lovcice appear to go to 1949. The judicial
district is in Kyjov (!).
Prior to this time their records were kept in Zdanice. T

I recently paid $3.50 per obit based on references in the CD. The person
who obtained them for me periodically visits the Allen County Library in
Indiana which holds copies of the newspaper. The obits, of course, are in
the Czech language, and the information contained in the obits vary widely
from one another. Some offer addresses, some name survivors, some indicate
where services will be held. There does not appear to be any particular set
style or format. Some also appear to possibly be legal notice
On a Passenger List "closest relative in country departing" entry, I found
the notation:
Vaclav Sladek, Louny/123 Dlouhatnida
Does the word "Dlouhatnida" make any sense to anyone? My first guess would
be name of the region where Louny was located or nearest large town, but I
haven't found any such location on any of my map or town searches.

If one is very careful and never open attachments (unless you know what
they contain first) you will almost always be safe. But there is a real
problem that can occur and that is when a virus reads a person's address
book and then sends a personal message to everyone in the address book
along with a copy of itself. That is how I got stung by the "pretty park"
virus and the person who sent it did not even know until it was too late.
Unfortunately, this virus infected my work computer and took out all the
