Hi all;
I am searching for information on the Teefey(Teefy)family from the Newport,
Birdhill areas of Tipperary. My Great-grandfather,James Teefey, born in 1863
+/- emmigrated from Newport in 1885 to Upper Michigan. His father, Timothy
may have been married to a member of the Hughes family. If anyone can shed
some light on the Teefeys of Tipperary,I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks for your consideration,
Tim Teefey

Well put.
I too admire my irish ancestors for the life they had, and survived, I even feel for the convicts in our tree, but feel their lives were perhaps better from their transportation.

I have learned so much
history while doing this and I am both impressed and proud that these Irish
relatives made it through all the hundreds of bad years and lived to tell

Recently I have received messages about Snow White.
The message contains a virus. The virus is spread when the user of an
infected computer replies to the user of a noninfected computer (if I
understand it correctly).
In order to protect your data and your computer, you should install (or
run an existing) anti-virus program.
You should also notify everyone with whom you correspond to do likewise.

Thank you for your gracious response and for the texts and observations that
you sent about Canon Law. But I think we are talking at cross-purposes.
1.) What I was talking about was not "waivers of right" FROM the Church
under Canon Law, but "waivers of liability" IN FAVOR OF the Church from
frivolous and pecunious lawsuits. The clergy in Ireland are citizens of that
state or nation and, hence, can be protected equally under Civil Law. Just
as institutions like the Church can be protected. If Irish g

Thomas married Norah Myles,(b.Cork abt.1845,) at St. Saviour's Church,

Baptisms for Tipperary parish from 1780 - 1899 and marriages 1793 - 1900 are

Hi Joan Mary,
Sean Ruad's IrlAtlas Townland Database shows no townlands in County
Tipperary beginning with BALLEN or BALLAN. In addition, none end with
VANY and none end with YANE.
I think you must be referring to the Townland of BALLINVENY, 849 acres

I have recently gotten information on a Thomas Ryan Bourke. He named his
farm in West Australia "Ballanyane". Has anyone heard of this name or
townland in Ireland? Could it be somewhere in Tipperary?
I am actually searching the names Meagher and McGrath and Bourke from Newport
Tipperary.
I appreciate any information. Thank you.

I have complained to Rootsweb about starting duplicate lists for Irish
counties and they have told me that if you ask for a list, they will
give it to you, even if there is another list on the same name or
county. The best thing for all of us to do, in this case, is not join
the other list. That way we keep our regular subbers. I also suggest
you all complain like I did. You can send an email to:
listmaster@rootsweb.com
You might also want to complain to the listowner of the new list:
