Hello
I have just subcribed to this list. My ancestor Anthony DWYER of Brandon in County Cork enlisted in the Irish Fusiliers and embarked for India in 1858.
As a longhot is there anyone out there researching the same family.
Sorry I don't have anything more to go on.
Thanks

I was told this by Fr Hays of the Ross Diocese: "Clonakilty and
Timoleague are neighbouring parishes - 15 miniutes drive apart.
Clonakilty has two churches: Clonakilty and Darrara; Timoleague parish
also has a church at Clogagh."
I know of family (surname White) in the townland of Skeaf, Clonakilty in
the 1890s. Might anyone know which Catholic church they likely belonged
to? Would anyone know if all of these churches were in existence in the
1890s?
Thanks,
Tom
Greetings Listers,
Where can I obtain passenger lists of ships sailing from Cobh for the years
1865 to 1875? I believe they would be listed as from QUEENSLAND back
then. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Subject Lyons - Kilworth, Mitchelstown, Fermoy
Having just re-read the request for information on Lyons, I realised I had
not stated that the baptisms of John Lyons and Ellen Sullivan's children
were in Kilworth not in Mitchelstown.
Sorry for any confusion.

I am doing research for a series of short documentary films for the Ellis
Island Museum in New York. At the moment I am focusing my research on Irish
Americans who are researching their family tree, who:
1. have found that their Irish ancestor came the the United States before
1892 (ie before the opening of Ellis Island) and 2. have recently found
long-lost relatives still living in Ireland. If you are interested and think
you might be able to help, please let me know.
Thanks very much.
Best,

Is there a town in Co. Cork named Dunmanway, I know I can't have the
spelling correct here, but phonetically that is what it sounds like.
I was told that my grandfather Richard Molloy was born there.
Thanks

Greetings listers,
I am researching the O'Shea and O'Mahony lines. Since I last posted a
message, I have come upon new facts that have pointed me in a new direction.
My Grandfather, CORNELIUS O'SHEA, was born abt. 1850 near DONERAILE,
CORK. His father's name was JOHN O'SHEA. He emigrated to NEW YORK CITY in
the U.S. sometime prior to 1876. He also married MARGARET GRADY, who was
from COUNTY CORK, about the same time. I don't know on which side of the
Atlantic the marriage took place. They had
