Hi Listers, I am looking for info on the CLERY family of Cork city. They lived there in the from the early 1800s. There is a large tombstone of the CLERY family in St Finbarrs cemetery Cork city. Does any one know anything or where it is in the cemetery. Erin from New Zealand
After 11 long years of banging my head against the same brick-wall I have finally been given information relating to my GFather, Jeremiah Leary. I have never been able to find his Mother's name - all I knew was his Father was John Leary of Cousane, and Jeremiah was born in the Coomhola district.
Wonderful! Now I know that his mother was JULIA KEOHANE of Cooryleary, she died soon after his birth in 1876 at Cooryleary/Coomhola, [she returned home to have the baby] and the Keohane family kept him until his f
Looking for a possible connection between the names
MANNIX/FOLEY/HANNON/HICKEY/O'KEEFFE around the year 1858 .
The HICKEY's came from Doneraile area and are connected to the MANNIX family
My connection with the MANNIX name is through my O'KEEFFE/HICKEY line and
maybe someone can help connect my HANNON line with the MANNIX line.
In my HANNON side Patrick HANNONs baptismal sponsors were KATE MANNIX and
PATRICK FOLEY.
Any assistance greatly appreciated. Always willing to exc. info to benefit

Does anyone have anything on the Travers family of Robert Travers and
Mehetable Colthurst of Hethyfield Grange, Co. Cork?
Two of their sons and (I think) a niece married into the Steward family

Limerick and Great Yarmouth) and Newman/Bacon of Cork.
The Travers seem to be the missing link that I've been looking for, for
some time and so any information at all would be

Hi Doug,
As you know that your Francis became a Church of Ireland clergyman,
there is another option which may be worth trying....
Information about Church of Ireland clergymen is pretty easy to track
down via the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. They
provided lots of information via mail in response to my enquiries.
For more information, go to their website....
