I'm interested in who the Stalcup girls married in the early generations.
I've been told a Jasper Ball married one. Did any other Ball or Brown marry a
Stalcup.
And,I guess a Stalcup married a Chandler,of Swithen Chandler?
One Jeremiah Chandler bought 50 acres 2 miles from me in about 180 3,from
Elias Gererard,II..Mr Chandler soon left a widow, and is an early burial in Old
Bethel Methodist a mile north of Bantam,Ohio.
Well, I thought this would be picked up on by someone with more
authority, but I will take a stab at it.
The four names mentioned in Debra's message were the daughters of Peter
Stalcop and Katherine Peterson. Yes, Christina married Ericus Bjork,
Brita married John Justus, and Maria married 1st Johan Cornelius
VandeVer and 2nd Hans Jurgen Schmidt.
BUT, Margaretta married John Morton. His parents were Matthias and
Annika (Justis) Martensson or Morton. (There seems to have been a
metamorphosis of the

In the pension papers of Thomas SINEX who was married to Maria Jane KELLEY
(or KELLY) there is made mention of a John SHAFNER as being a "1/2 brother
of Soldier". Thomas SINEX was killed in battle during Civil War. Thomas
SINEX, was a son of a Thomas SINEX & Elizabeth FOULK. Could Elizabeth
Foulk Sinex have married a Mr. SHAFNER thus John being "that" son, and
being a 1/2 brother to the soldier Thomas SINEX. Any help on this will be
gratefully appreciated.

"This is Christmas, and my mind wanders back to that home made lonesome
by my absence, while far away from the peace and quietude of civil life
to undergo the hardships of camp, and may be the battlefield. I think
of the many lives that are endangered, and hope that the time will soon
come when peace, with its innumerable blessings, shall once more restore
our country to happiness and prosperity."

Hello. In some archives (I forget which list it was, sorry) I saw that one
specific individual had been in contact with a descendant of Christina
Stalcop who went back to Sweden with her Reverand husband when he was called
back to Sweden. He knew of his "New Sweden" heritage, I was wondering if
the person who was in contact with him still had his contact info. I will
be going to Sweden next summer and would love to meet him and hear of his
family history work. Maybe we could even visit Strangnas (where
Herman,
I am not familiar with Leslie Collier.
Yes, mine are through Tobias Smyth and Mary McDonald's daughter Catherine.
This was the line that left DE and migrated to Washington Co, VA; through
what was then Augusta Co. Catherine married Elisha McNew. I am descended
from these McNews on 2 distinct lines, with multiple ancillary relations
back to them again. (I've lost count.)

Maria first married Johan Cornelisson Vanderveer and they had a daughter Catharina who returned with Maria and Hans. She married Simon Johnson of Cecil Co., MD. There are descendants down that line as well.

Hi Herman,

Christina married Ericus Bjork. And isn't Brita who married John Justus your
line? I don't know who Margaretta's husband was. Maybe she was the one that
married the Chandler. Did I miss any of them?
