Hi JoAnn,
My Lock line is: Lars Karlsson Locke, Andrew Lock, Helena Lock
married Peter Justice, whose daughter Susanna married my Israel
Longacre around 1754. Peter Justice goes back to the Gustafssons.
Ray Longacre (the 1693 census book is great!)
Hi Randall, you are talking about my ancestors here. Stalcop, Peterson
and Smidt are all part of my maternal line. Maria Stalcop was the
grandaughter of both Johan Stalcop through his son Peter Stalcop, and of
Samuel Peterson through his daughter Katherina Peterson (sometimes known as
Katarina Samuelsdotter). Peter and Katherine were married in about 1685.
Britta or Bridget, wife of Samuel Peterson is given the name Johnson by
some researchers.
Good references for the Stalcops and Petersons are Peter
I have recently learned of several ancestors who immigrated from Sweden
to the New Castle area in the mid to late 17th century. The only
information I have are names and dates. I would be interested in
hearing from anyone with additional information on the following people.
Johan Stalcop - born around 1628 in Strdngnds, Sweden. Married
Christina Carlsdotter in 1656 in New Castle. Died 8 Feb. 1685 in New
Castle.

I was very excited to see this message regarding Johan Stalcop. I am a
descendant of John Stalcup and Annika Erickson through their daughter
Catharina who married Joseph Hedges in 1697, New Castle Co. DE. I have
NO additional information regarding my Stalcup line and would love to
know more.

Hello Bernadine,
I checked the book and can't find the connection for you. All the Lock/Locke
family members seem to be confined to South Jersey region. I can check my
Broderbund CD;s if you like. Pat

Hi, Antoinette -
We've been in touch before. I sent you a copy of a DAR paper on Sinnickson,
remember? I'm hoping that Pat can help me with the Savoy line.
Mary
That's the sad thing about the book, is that it doesn't go far enough to
include your surnames/family members.

I hope you don't mind my butting in, but you mentioned Hendrickson in your
e-mail. I am descended from Hendrik Johansson of Sweden who came to Penns
Neck around 1747 with his son John Hendriksson. John's daughter Brita,
married Isaac Savoy and I descend from that marriage. Is this your line also?
Mary
Hi Pat,
I have talked to Dr. Craig also. I am a member of the Swedish
Colonial Society and was at their May Luncheon at the Corinthian
Yacht Club. I was very impressed with the group that attended. The
next luncheon is in October, I believe. I will search GENDEX and see
where your Mary might come in. Try Gustafsson. My line changed from
that to Justis and then Justice. Dr. Craig told me about my Justice
connection.
Take care,
Ray Longacre
Mary, from the original Old Swedes I have photocopied the pages w/surnames and so
have no Index but I went through the year you have listed and it does not go up
past 1787. Volume II which I do have has no listings. Has a few "ROCK" but no
ROCHE
Wish I could have helped more but wasn't there. Also check Penns Neck/Raccoon
and Delaware Wills & one other that I have but nothing shown in Index.

Good to hear from you. You are so lucky to have the Old Swedes Book. I've
been trying to get it for close to a year now, without success. I have the
church records of Penns Neck, however.
There is something that you could check for me if you would. My 7th
gr-grandfather, Edward Roche and his wife, Eliza Maria Brinckle Roche were
long-time members of Old Swedes and are, in fact, buried in the churchyard
there. My question concerns their children. I have their names, but I'm not
sure the birthdat

Hello Mary Beth, I'm a "something" great grand-daughter of Cpt. Sven Skute.
My research is still quite new on this line but I do recognize the Rambo name

Hi Folks...
Don't know how I got on the list for the Reverend Mr. Lars Locke, but I have
no connection and no interest, so puhleeze...take my name off. I am getting
10 or 12 messages from all and sundry about this subject.
Thanx loads,

Ray, Thanks, I'll do that. Swedish Colonial Society sounds interesting.
I think I received their brochure some years ago. We live in CA so hard
to attend meetings but will be in PA doing research in October. I'm in
the middle of a book on the Vanderslice family. Pat

Just had to drop a comment in here about a couple of searches I
recently ordered from Holy Trinity(Old Swedes) Foundation.
I sent a check for two marriage documentations at Old Swedes and a
search of their records for a particular surname.
I was delighted with the SPEED with which I received the results of the
search and the two document copies. Sources searched were provided as well
as results.
A search well worth the money and no months long wait for the results!
I'm a happy camper eve
Peter Craig may already have checked the Justus book, including his own for
your Mary, but if you give me some more info I'll check my three books.

Cathy, I know her name was Mary Laury. I just found this recently in a book on
the McGuire family of New Jersey. So I need info on the Laury book. I have
two of Peter Craig's books, the 1693 Census and the Justus family that moved
West. So I would appreciate if you checked the other one you have. What is
the name of that book?
Thank you so much,
Pat

And Isaac & Brita's daughter Hiertrud Savoy (aka Gertrude, Greta) married John
Sinnickson. I believe this is in Peter Craig's The 1693 Census of the Swedes on
the Delaware.
