Sue, your idea of Casandra looks doable. That s is just a little flat at the top. ****** I think it's going to be something along the line of Carandeo. My 'first glance' says Casandra, but when it's enlarged it definitely doesn't look like an s for the third letter or that it ends in ra. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ronda Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008 18:47 Subject: [DECIPHER] Help on DC1918-11730 To: decipher-l@rootsweb.com > Image Link: http://www.

Mothers name appears to be Aggie Jane VanVoories Informant may be L Hughes, same as the doctor. I think the H sort of looks like an M, but what causes that is he didn't lift the pen when making to two straight bars or when he went to go back and make the crossbar. On top of that, he didn't make it all the way back to the first part of the letter. (So it could be just a doctor with poor handwriting - surprise?) ----- Original Message ----- From: JReed1945@aol.com Date: Thursday, December 18, 2008 22:25 Subj

informant: Marcia/Matcia/Mortcia/Martcia. About the date-I think it's either 20 Oct 1845 or 20 Oct 1848. This document was written in 1918. Mr. Parson is married and an attorney at law. So I would say Mr. Parson was atleast 70 Yrs. old at this time. Plus the cause of death leads me to think he was that age. It looks like the birth place is Falls Of Rough Ohio county. Father's name may be Trist/Trice/Trise. Informant may be Mr. Parson's wife. That's my take on this document. ----- Original Me
