I loaded Deed Mapper 3.0 on my computer. The computer operating system
is Windows XP. The DM software loaded without any errors.
I can enter a deed and save it. I can down load deeds from the Direct
Line site.
Two problems have occurred. One problem is Deed Mapper closes with
DMWIN MFC application has encountered a problem and needs to close. The
other problem is once I leave Deed Mapper and then open the DM software
again and select a deed that has been saved it immediately closes the
program.
Jim,
My Deedmapper usually opens at 2000ft. (121.2p) in the "plot view". In the

the scale on the bottom/left of the screen show a scale of 31.7ft (1.92p).
Then in the "text view", I use the template, leaving all the information

Now go to the plot view. Hold your mouse down and the plot should c

You can change the scale by going to 'View', selecting 'Options' and
clicking on the 'Plot View'. The smallest scale I was able to enter was
125 feet per inch. A 10' X 10' plot was very small. You could work
around this by multiplying all distances by the same factor.
Your drawing would look okay, but your area would be wrong.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use deedmapper to plot a cemetery?
There seems to be some cautionary language on the website about using it for
legal property research that isn't quite clear enough on if this is possible. I
would simply want to plot graves in relation to each other. (More accurately
gravestones in relation to one another. Has anyone tried this? Thanks.

The map names must end in .BMF in order for the program to recognize them as
DeedMapper maps. You can check this by using Windows Explorer to look in
the folder containing your maps. The file type should be listed as
DeedMapper map. Other than that the program shouldn't care about the names.
If you order additional maps in the future we set it up so the new maps mesh
with the existing maps. The program does not determine where the maps are
to be located.

I have plotted several deeds that are next to each other. I don't have
the topo map for the area where the property is located. I do know the
latitude and longitude of several of the corners. Is it possible to
assign these values to the corners and then be able to "Lat./Long."
Command to determine the values for other points on the deeds?

Does anyone know what the convention is for naming maps. I recently received 4 new maps along with the Deed mapper SW. When I renamed the maps to use a lat-long convention I dreamed up the SW would not recognize them. I reverted back to the names they came with (RL#XXFXX) and they were recognized OK. My concern is that if I order more maps for adjacent areas how will I get the SW to put them in the proper orientation relative to each other?

Now divide that into ten to 14 or so graves. I'd say it could be done
without any problems. Depending on the scale it was printed, it may be
better to just assign a reference number or code and list the graves
separately.
I recall you asking about this small land transaction. Perhaps the
original intention was as a grave site rather than
Fred,
When you are in "Plot View" format and have one or more items selected,
click on "Display" on the tool bar and select "Lines". This should
cause both direction and distance be displayed for each line.

Ed,
I would like to know how you were able to set the scale that small.
When I tried to reduce the scale below 125 I got a message that the
scale was too small. I would like to be able to do a similar project

Thanks.

Trouble is they sometimes have two or three
different versions of measurements. You have to work
your way back to some known factor to figure out
which is which.
