Greetings all!
The Delaware GenWeb Project now has its own domain:
http://www.degenweb.org/
We believe this will increase our visibility, and the shorter URL will
increase researchers' ability to access us easily.
The Kent County site can be accessed from that site, or by its own URL:

In 1999 I retired from my job with the Central Arizona Project in PHX, AZ.
One of my co-workers was from WV. I told him I planned on going to WV and
the Eastern Shore of MD to work on my KNOTTS family history. Interestingly
enough, his wife is a WV KNOTTS. He cautioned me abt meeting the WV
"Natives". But I'm retired from the navy, and had experience with supposedly
hostile native people before. My experience has always been that if you
treat people with respect, you usually are fairly safe. This holds for
I'm checking into DNA testing for the KNOTT(S) surname. We would have to have 6 or more MALE KNOTTS members. It should be pretty painless. You just take a scraping of the inside of your cheek. http://www.familytreedna.com The cost for people in a surname project would be $99 plus $2 shipping vs the standard price of $149. A year or so ago it was in excess of $200 . At this time, they don't offer testing with the female members in a surname project Please see this website; http://www.familytreedna.com/surnam

I am seeking a child born to CLARA GUSBERG (probably O.W.) sometime in
the few years prior to 1919 when she had another child. The first child
could have been born in any one of the following states: New York; New
Jersey (where Clara was born); Delaware (where she lived in 1918 with her
first husband, Sam E. Cole); Connecticut (where she also lived and her
2nd child was born); or Rhode Island where her 2nd husband came from and
where she spent some time in the early 1900s. The 1st child was probably

I'd like to invite you all to visit several new hosted chatrooms on the
internet... available to everyone and they are FREE!!! You will have to
register, however. There are also some great message boards at the site, and
you'll have to register separately for them as the message boards and chats
are two different programs. One of the registrations asks for you
birthdate.. but you can "fudge" on that one << wink>>

I am looking for the parents of my Bevins (other spelling?) TURNER and wife Priscilla (other spellings?) BESWICK. They had two sons, Minus and William Turner. Bevins was from the Dover area and Priscilla was from "the eastern shore of Maryland."
They left that area around 1806-1810 and went to the Louisville, KY area to build a house for Henry Clay. While living in KY, a daughter, Jane, was born and Pricscilla died near Covington, KY.
Any help, family connections, marriage records, tax, etc, would
Dear List Members,
I look forward to the year 2003 being a great one for our list. Because
of the amount new members we have subscribing every day, I feel it is
time to again post the suggested rules of the list...even us long time
members need reminding once in a while.
1 I have very few rules on the lists I watch over. The main one is to
treat your fellow members as you would like to be treated. Also the
posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political
announcements, current e
