Hi,
I'm new to the list and seeking information on William J. Hurlock who
was born in New Castle Co., DE, in abt. 1818. He and his wife (Mary Ann
Hawk) are on the 1850 Berks Co., PA, census, and then show up on the
1880 Orange Co., VA, census. He is my g-g-grandfather. For years now,
I have been trying to find his father and mother.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am doing research on the Stidham/Stedham/Steadham/Steddom family

about 1610, was on the first Swedish ship to reach America in 1638.
He was among the first Swedish immigrants to settle in New Sweden

Thanks Debbie and Ross Dellinger for creating this mailing list.
I'm working on the GORBY surname, some branches also spell it GORBEY.
Looking for any information relating to them, Any Place, Any Time. Also

what has been uncovered in New Castle Co, DE as of February 1998:
Two marriages for Joseph GORBY were recorded at Old Swede's Church.
Joseph GORBY (I) was born abt 1725, some sources say in Chester Co, PA.

Dear Richard,
We went to Borders and bought some fishing maps for Chester County,New
Castle County and Cecil County. No Squirrel Creek. Went to our local
library and the local historical society in York County. No Squirrel
Creek. The search countinues.
Meanwhile, if you're ever coming up this way, we can point you to some
real good fishin' holes.

Dear Brian,
We're all new to this list...it's only a few weeks old.
Rootsweb is in the process of making a search engine available to all of
the smaller list's archives. All the posts are saved....it's just a
little tricky to plow through them until there are more disks in the
system......we'll let you know when it's up and running!
In the meantime, please post without fear of replication....
And here is the URL for the Roots Surname list...if any of you haven't
been there yet, it's worth a look.http:

Hello all,
Welcome to the DENEWCAS list!
Since we're brand new, we're not going to fuss with a lot of rules and

For the next few weeks, Ross and I will do lookups in "Revolutionary War

Amanda,
Your kind offer is welcome and accepted. I believe that a David Staats is
living next to my Jesse Staats in Maryland in 1800 - He [David] is supposed
to have married a "Letesha". Jesse Staats and David Staats could have
married sisters, but I don't know how Jesse and David are connected by
blood, which I am pretty sure they are. Who did Letesha Codereck marry?
The Plillip Staats is probably a son of John Staats, the Rev. War veteran
mentioned in the follow-up message from "Delwarrens"
