I am looking for information on the marriage of John L. Higgins and Mary

and John Higgins is listed in the 1860 census for Wilmington City, New
Castle County, 3rd Ward. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have two questions that I have been meaning to ask.
Last year I visited (I think) the London Tract Baptist Church to find a marker for Jacob Mote. Although according to the map, I was in the right place, I could not find any signs or indications of which church/cemetery it was. Standing on the road, the small church was to the right, the cemetery was to the left and back. I believe there was a split rail fence to the far left of the cemetery and a stone wall behind? Has anyone had a similar experienc

Greeting to all,
I dont want this to become a flame situation, however, I am sitting here and
reading your DE complaints about fees and Cemeteries Charges. And I must shed
a little light on the subject.
First let me state the I was born, raised and lived in DE for 45 years. I
have been a genealogy researcher for about 10 years. And have always offered
everyone help with any information they need.
As for Riverview Cem. the caretaker's staff is usually efficent, friendly and
helpful. However I learned

I found an awesome site that has probably been around awhile but was new to me. It has comprehensive Netherland ship lists,
New Amsterdam baptisms and other original records.

"Brandywine" could refer to the general area of the Brandywine Valley or
to "Brandywine Hundred". ("Hundreds" in Delaware are the jurisdictional
subdivisions of counties. Brandywine Hundred lies between the Brandywine
Creek and the Delaware River.) In either case, I would look for the
records in New Castle County.

I overllooked a lilltle additional information about Elizabeth Pierce in my
original message and I apologize for the extra message.
Elizabeth's marriage record of 1883 lists her age as 20 yrs and her middle
initial as S.
Also, her husband, Henry was listed as "Farmer" at that time. NO parent info
on either.
Thank you again,

I am researching the Malin line. There was a Henry Malin in New Castle county
in the 1870 census. There was a Thomas Malin (aged 9)living with the family.
He is my GG grandfather. I am trying to find out who his parents were. The
Henry could have been his grandfather. Sure hope somebody can help!!! Thanks,

As an ex-Wilmingtonian transplanted in South Dakota, I have written (with
stamped, self-addressed reply envelope enclosed) and called Riverview Cemetery
in Wilmington to see if a relative, Margaret (Stapleford) Koffenberger, is
buried there (and with what other family members). Almost two months have
gone by and I have not received a reply. Has anybody had any experience with
Riverview? Any advice?

I am researching Abraham Staats, (ca. 1755-1828) who married Anna
King, daughter of either Cornelius or Frances, in New Castle Hundred.
Both Cornelius and Frances King are sons of Cornelius and Annetje

either Styntjie Ellsworth, his first wife or Christina Garretsen, his
second. Abraham and Anna moved on by 1790 to Fort Boreman, VA and later
Evans, Jackson County, WVA where he died. Abraham Staats second wife,
married in 1812, was

Hello ALL,
Seeking any information or advice on a Del born GGgrandmother, Elizabeth
Pierce. I know VERY little about her and not much hope of finding her info.
The little I do know is, Elizabeth was born in Delaware.
She married a Henry W. Read of Philadelphia, PA in Phila. The marriage was
performed by a Baptist minister in South Phila. on May 23,1883.
Henry's family was Lutheran.
They had at least one daughter, Caroline Alexandria born in Phila Jan 9,1888.

Hello ALL,
New to the list, and fairly new to genealogy as well. I am seeking birth
record information on my GGrandfather, ANDREW McGRATH. My question is, Is it
possible to get the birth record from the state for Andrew knowing only his
name and month/year and state of birth ? All I know is he was born 10/1865 in
Delaware. I got that from PA census. Andrew moved to Phila at sometime, then
onto to western PA sometime before 1897. He died in Natrona PA sometime bet
1925 and 1931. That's all I know about h
If I had only known the cemetery was so large, I would not have attempted
to find the family headstone without a map. I was looking for section 6-D
single grave # 269 (Stanley LIPINSKI and his family) and never found it. I
am hoping his wife is buried next to him and I will finally know her name.
Can someone provide a description of this section in relation to the front
gates, etc? Just wondering how I could have missed it or if he actually
had a headstone.
