Good morning list, For those of you, who have asked about orphanages in Delaware Co., PA. I came across the following in the Delaware County Daily Times, dated Sun. 19 Sep 2004. On page (2) there is the column: "Other Times" 100 YEARS AGO Ground has been broken for the big Philadelphia Orphanage in Wallingford. Rev. Robert Clay was rector of Immanuel Church, New Castle, for 36 years and died in Dec 1831. He was the son of Slator Clay and brother of Rev. Jehu Clay. This from 'History of Delaware'. Hope it helps, Carol

Dear Listers, Does anyone have access to a phone book or city directory for Wilmington for 1939-40-41 or perhaps later. I'm looking for the address of Mrs. Stubbs' boardinghouse. It was a three-story house in three apartments on an unknown street a couple of blocks from the corner of Delaware and Pennsylvania Avenues. The back porches were on Penn.
