1. Re: [DK] Location of Funen(Fyen) added Military service records [1]
Thank you Lars and Ian Let me give a little background of where the information I have came from. (Sorry, Ian, that I didn't tell you where it came from in the first place.) I am researching a gentleman by the name of Matthias Peter Lund. I have photo copies of the Church book records for two marriages, and three births for children. There is another child which I can't find a birth record for. The Church book is from Hellivad Parish and Evgad Parish, Aabenraa Amt. One child was born before Matthias Peter

Hi Donna, I think that the best way to find out is to go to the archives for this list at: and search for the keyword "folkeregister". 3. [DK] Non receipt of DK mail sorted now [1]
Further to my earlier email advising "no mail" I think I was unsubscribed by the system due to Yahoo being down for a bit last Thursday. I had a call from a cousin on Thursday morning saying his email to me had bounced. This was at the same time of the day many Denmark emails start arriving, so after a certain number I was probably "taken care of" - in the nicest possible way - of course!! Then I was away for the weekend and didn't know of the problem until a couple of hours ago. I now look forward to

Yes, I also found it to be a stongly held belief among the volunteers at a family-history center in Honolulu. But it is only that they hadn't looked at enough film and fiche to know. I was able to show them both kinds. Rock At 04:40 PM 4/12/02 +1200, Pam Ogier wrote: > >Sorry. 7. RE: [DK] Suffocatio pr. suspiusion [1]
That is a very good idea. I'll look into that. The problem is if the records are still sealed because this is fairly recent (1937), compared to most of the inquiries on this list. Dagmar From: Ian Westergaard [mailto:ian.westergaard@ihug.co.nz] In New Zealand in circumstances like these there would be a police inquiry and a coroner's inquest. If that was the custom in Denmark in 1937 then there should be more records which may give the exact cause of death. From: "Steen E Mortensen"

Question on Danish Emigration: How long after the date of their registration in the Police Records would the persons emigrate, in general?? Hello Arlene, Thank you for your kind offer. Can you please see if you can find this family in the 1860 and 1870 census? In 1845-50-55 censuses, they were living in Hjxrring, Horns, Gfrum. 20. [DK] Niels Hansen Schou/Patronymics [1]
Hi, All, Niels Hansen Schou (married 1854 Kxbenhaven to a Kirsten Hansen) may have been my G-G-Grandfather. I thought Hansen as a middle name was a little unusual, but as I was searching at familysearch.org, I found others with that middle name, and many of them were from Bornholm. I'm guessing here, but I suspect that this is the first sign of patronymics in my Schou line and that the person who adopted Schou as a permanent surname may have been Han's son. Was it common to make the transition in this way?

Digests break a number of things. About the only thing you can do is to make sure you copy the subject header from the particular message you're replying to and add Re: to the front. Never ever use the automatically generated subject of "Re: XYZ Digest #x.y.z" (or whatever it looks like). Your message will be broken from the automatically generated reference chain, unfortunately. The subject chain is the next best thing. Some mailers will group threads according to both the reference chains, as well the su
