I got a message from Yahoo! that they will be closing their Geocities
websites later this year. I guess that means the Disbrow Family Website
will disappear, along with thousands of others. I think that stinks, but
there's nothing we can do. It's been a freebie from the beginning and I
suppose what Yahoo! giveth it can also taketh away.
At this point I'm not sure I'm going to open a new Disbrow website, but I'm
not ruling it out either. I've thought some about looking i

We're going to miss it. Hope something else comes along.

Mike, from what I understand, Rootsweb has become part of Ancestry.com but
stays FREE while a subscription is needed for Ancestry. It would be worth a
try anyway!
I'm interested in the Disbrow lines, because although I'm a Holder by birth,
my brother's DNA matches that of Robert Disbrow within 2 markers on the 67
marker which is a very close match.
Someplace "back there" we have had a crossing of the lines, either by
adoption or by 'hanky panky'. Whichever, it doesn't matter to me, but I'd
love to b
Mike,

I heard about Geo closing down some time back, so I finally broke down and
got my own paying site at www.hawblitz.info
My Mother's name was Annabelle (Peg) Disbro...daughter of Frank A.
Disbro( dropped the "w") and Nellie Mae Disbro. My middle name is also
Disbro....Candy Disbro Murphy (now Candy Hawblitz since 1970).
Since a portion of my site covers the Disbro-Allard side of my family as my
Grandmother's maiden name was Allard, I'm still searching for a Disbro who
may have photos of my Grandmother
I'm sorry to see this go - - - have really enjoyed hearing about possible
relatives although I have not really been able to connect with any Michigan
people.
I am remembering Disbrow-Isham reunions as a child, in Michigan, but have
not had any recent Michigan connections.

area)

I have forwarded you email on to the administrator of my Maddox lines
website asking for any suggestions. Will let you know if he comes back with
any ideas.
You've put so much hard work in this it would be a shame to let it go by the
wayside.

Mike:
I got this reply from the administrator of the MADDOXDNA group (my
grandfather's line):
"Kathy -
I use www.1and1.com The domain name is about 7.00 per year and the service
is about 3 bucks a month. I have 1 and 1 home, which includes domain name.
Maybe 75 per year total. Hopefully that helps.
Thanks,
Brandon"
If you think this might be an option for the Disbrow site, I would think
that if all us Disbrow cousins would chip in a $3-$5 it would give you
enough to keep the sight up for the next few
