The registry of the Bishop for the Archdeaconry of Dorset was destroyed in the great fire at Blandford in 1731. The loss included the BT's from (possibly) 1542 to 1730. Is anyone aware of duplicate records and their location. I am particularly interested in the records for Bridport for the period from 1700 to 1731. Peter

Hi Jim and Bev Regret I can't find a page for St Luke's, but details of all the current Poole churches can be found at: http://www.credwood.freeserve.co.uk/poole/info/church.htm and if you click on the appropriate link you can see a picture of the church. If you go to: http://www.poole-online.net/biztype/church.htm there is a link to a map. I've found that few churches bother with their own web sites and in general they appear to prefer the joint approach, although there is always the exception of c

Hi Listers, My husband's ggrandfather's mother supposedly died in Portland around 1852-1854.
