Andy, Wish I could give you some definite answers on my direct DRIVER line, but mine it would seem, appeared by metamorphosis. I can find collateral lines or that is to say, those who are 'believed' to be collateral lines by earlier researchers, on census records etc. I find my 3rd great-grandfather George Washington Driver on the Census for Ware County, GA in 1850 by 1860 they are living in Suwannee County, FL and he died in Lafayette County, FL. As did his son, my 2nd great-grandfather. I do have

My most distant Driver ancestor is John Samuel Driver born in 1757 in York Cty PA. He married Catherine Sample. It's believed his father is James Driver who came from Wales (?) about 1740. John's son James married Sarah Rhody, their son Morgan married Mary Jane Hedrick, their son John William married Nancy Emaline Bennett. Their daughter Alfreda married George Adcock, their son John William married M. Ione Edin. They are my parents. Thanks, Marge marjen@emily.net > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec

I am a descendant of James of Wales. James was married twice. He had 6 children by his first wife, Margaret and then he m. Lydia McDonough and that is my line. James and Lydia had 3 children, William, Gideon, b. 1800 and Margaret b. 1796. Gideon is my ggrandfather. Gideon m. Leah Duvall(my brick-wall) and they had 10 children. William, b. in 1832, is my grandfather. My father was Francis Marion and was b. in 1886. I did not know much about the Driver family until I started researching. My father was

As it is the Holiday Season, I thought it would be appropriate to initiate a Virtual Genealogical Gift Exchange. I suggest that everyone post some bit of Driver information, record transcription, news event, obituary, or other tidbit that may be helpful to your fellow researchers. Look outside your own genealogy. Perhaps you have some records that you transcribed that include Driver information that is not your own. This would be a good time to share it. Also, this is the *perfect* time to hand off tho

My grandmother was Mildred Driver. She was born in Canada although her siblings were all born in Massachusetts. I do not know her father's name. Her mother was Suzie Campbell Driver, born in NY. My great uncle Jimmy Driver, who passed away recently, said there is a family bible that shows Captain William Driver as an ancestor. I do not know what the line is from him to me though. I have quite a bit of information on him and all the different offshoots, but have not connected to my grandmother yet. Debbi Sm
