Thank you to everyone who responded to my requests for information on my Reid family in Dufferin County, especially Sheila Davidson, who was able to provide me with a wealth of information. I have now been able to confirm that I do indeed have family descendants in Ontario and hope to meet some of them next month.
Sincerely,
Tammy Guldbransen
Thank you Amy, Pat and Lynn for your timely responses to my query re:
barn with the name "The Maples" painted on it.
I found the picture among my Dad's possessions. He worked at one time
for a Mame/Mamie and Truman Fern(s) in the Orangeville area, so I
thought this might be their farm. I am only guessing though.

Hi
My grandfather was Willard Ernest Bartlett. He was born in Shelburne on
August 14, 1882. His father was William Bartlett and his mother was Mary
McKittrick. I have been unable to find anything about either of them -
births, marriages, etc.
Any help that anyone might give me would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Dear Marilyn,
I will reply to the List as well, as they may be interested in the info
available through this marvellous book.
I am the proud owner of the book "History of Shelburne" by John Rose,
written in the 1970s, I think (no date, ISBN or publisher). The wonderful
Curator of the Dufferin County Museum found me a copy after I had found
numerous great uncles and their stories within. The Museum people have an
index (must see if I can get a copy), but just looking now, there is a

Would anyone on the list be familiar with a farm in the Orangeville area
in the late 30's to the 50's that was called "The Maples"?
Thank you.

Dear Claude:
Thank you so much for the information re: The Maples. I am uncertain at this
point in time if this does indeed apply to the people I am researching. However,
I do have it available now. I have a picture of the barn with The Maples painted
on it and the home on the farm. Where do I go to find out if it is one and the
same?
Again, thanks to everyone who responded to my query. I hope I didn't miss anyone,
if so please forgive me. I do truly thank all of you for your time and
generosity.

The date could possibly be December 26th instead. The handwritten record is
hard to decipher. The second digit of the date is either a 5, missing the
top horizontal line, or a 6 with the bottom loop not entirely closed. My
guess is that it is a 6, but I'm not 100% s
Dear Judy
Thanks so much for your reply and your research. Your book sounds great.
You said "There are a few more paragraphs on this family. If you are
interested, let me know and I will send the lot off line." Is there any
mention of children - specifically a Mary? I would definitely be interested
in the other information.
Thanks again.
