Dear Stan, Thank you so very much for your wonderful reply. The dates you've found and included cover exactly the time period I'm looking for, and I'm looking forward to when the 1851 census is included on the Scotlands People site. I'm sure my ancestor will be in the Kelso area, "working on the railway". Thank you again. It's great, at last, to have a starting point.
