1. [DUTTON] Lillie May DUTTON, Ellis Island 1920 [1]
Dear List I wonder whether anyone knows about, or is connected with, a Lillie May DUTTON who arrived at Ellis Island on August 6th 1920 from Southampton, on the ship Adriatic. She was aged 21 yrs 7 months and place of residence given as London. She was British and single, and intending to stay in the US permanently and to become a US citizen. Ive just realised that she is most probably my grandmothers aunt Lillie May DUTTON, born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, in the early part of 1899. If Ive read the
2. [DUTTON] Duttons of Irish Extraction [1]
Here is a remarkable little bio. I had never heard of Irish Duttons before!! In 1841 John Jones was married to Elizabeth Lynch, who was born in Sussex County, Delaware, in 1826, and died at LaRue, Ohio, December 11, 1905, aged 79 years. Until attacked by the illness which terminated their lives, both parents were in unusual health for venerable age, remarkably preserved in both mind and body. The maternal grandparents of Andrew J. Jones were Jeremiah and Mary (Dutton) Lynch, both of Irish extraction. Jere

7. [DUTTON] Barbados, Quakers and Duttons [1]
George Fox, founder of the Society of Friends, had preached in many areas: England, New England, Germany, Holland, and Barbados. Fox traveled to Barbados in 1671 and visited the Quaker communities there. He also wrote a letter to the Governor of Barbados in 1671 which has since become one of the three principal doctrinal documents of Orthodox Quakerism. Sir Richard Dutton was Governor of the Caribbean island of Barbados in 1684, British West Indies. Ron Dutton had reported (see archives) that Sir Richar

Hi Diana, I have tons of Duttons including John Dutton and Mary Darlington going back to Odard and forward to Mary Hosannah Dutton who married Cornelius Willis July 19, 1837, in Annapolis, MD. 20. Re: [DUTTON] test messages from Carole [1]
Hi: I have corresponded with Carole off list. I believe the message she was trying to send is just too large (61KB). It also has styled text (HTML, fonts, etc.) The size would stop a message from reaching the list if the admin has the max size set to less than 61 KB. Plus, RootsWeb requires plain text only, although the list robots can often strip out the HTML if it isn't too complex. I would be willing to discuss this further, but *ONLY* privately. I am a list admin for over a dozen RootsWeb lists

Hi Joseph Richardson, I hope you are on this list. Here is something to read in your spare time. 22. [DUTTON] People's stories [1]
Hi, People leave many interesting notes in my guestbook. Some entries are funny, some sad, and some are sweet. Some people are looking for their family and I think that they are related to people on this list (e.g., Melvin O.). If you have a few minutes you might want to read their letters. People from England are looking for their families in England, but all I really have are my relatives in OH and PA and they are disappointed. There does not seem to be any family web sites for Duttons from England!
23. [DUTTON] DNA update [1]
Hello all, Joseph Richardson gave me permission to forward this message to all the Dutton researchers regarding the newest success on the Dutton DNA project. Joseph explains complex information in a very understandable manner. Thank you, Joseph. Our project continues to encourage PA Duttons and English Duttons to participate in the project as many questions remain unanswered and can only be resolved when more people are tested. An anonymous donor has volunteered to pay for a PA Dutton DNA test who has a

Carole, I have a question in regards to the puzzle of the Pa. Dutton's. Would a missed or skipped generation make any difference in the DNA. results? I still hold to my theory that Francis Dutton , David Dutton and Kingsman Dutton who married Mary Craig were brothers and sons of Kingsman Dutton ( Jr.) and Ruth Watson.. I have no proof for this, only the association of the naming of children after ancestors , as was the then custom. That is where my ancestor named a son James Watson Dutton. I
25. [DUTTON] Exciting DNA results! The Zachariah Dutton DNA Project! Part II [1]
* Genetic Genealogy Genetic genealogy or DNA genealogy consists of two major branches: the study of this Y chromosome (Y-DNA), following the direct paternal line, and the study of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), following the direct maternal line (mother-to-mother-to-mother, and so on). Only males possess the Y-chromosome, so only males can participate in Y-DNA research. And so, to study the Y-DNA of the Dutton family, only direct male descendants of the Dutton family, who will most likely be named Dutton, and
