1. Re: [DUTTON-Z] The Dutton-Penn Speculation: A Confession and Renunciation [1]
Is it also speculation, then, that Zachariah Dutton's father was Gerrard? Best regards, Michael R. 2. Re: Confession and a Lengthy Reply [1]
Dear Joseph: It is good to hear from you. I haven't written on the list since it got started and I was living in Germany - but I thought I would respond to your note on this occasion. It is a great thing to make a renunciation and confession of this sort. I wish more academics did that. It is always important to distinguish fact from speculation from informed speculation. I have not been doing genealogical research for some time but try to keep abreast of matters as others progress forward. I am currently

Cousins, I've been meaning to write this for quite a while now, but I finally sat down and did it yesterday. I hope you're all doing fine, and would like to hear from you sometime.] Best regards, Cousin Joseph ----- THE DUTTON-PENN SPECULATION: A CONFESSION AND RENUNCIATION Some seven years ago I put forth a speculation that Zachariah Dutton's wife was a Penn, the sister of Stephen Penn. Then, I was young, brash, and ambitious. I was desperate to establish my family as "well-connected," and myself as a

Joseph, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for researching, compiling and printing information about DUTTON heritage. The only people that make no mistakes, are the ones that does nothing. After researching for circa 30 years I know how many hours that it takes to find one person, how many miles that you drive in hopes of that one little piece of evidence, that will bring the family another name in the long line of descent. Everyone that has done any research knows that there will be m

Cousin Joe, I share your frustration with finding information is not as we thought it was. I too recently deleted years of research on a family line that seemed to be correct, was apparently documented and flowed smoothly into the family line. Just a couple of weeks ago I deleted the WHOLE line. It wasn't mine (actually my husband's) that I had looked for many years and was so proud to have and proclaim! Having confessed to myself that this was the wrong and starting over, we found the correct line
7. Re: [DUTTON-Z] Re: DUTTON-ZACHARIAH-D Digest V05 #15 [1]
Hi, You're receiving the list as a digest in Outlook Express Version 6. Outlook Express breaks up the digest into attachments, while most other mail programs leave the digest as one message with no attachements. You may have your Outlook Express set to "don't open suspicious attachments", which would cause the digest to not be opened as an attachment. To fix that, in Outlook Express, go to OPTIONS>SECURITY> and uncheck the place where it says "Do not allow attachments to be saved or o
