Seeking information on Dyer/Jefferson connection. William Dyer put up
money for the defense of Thomas Jefferson's nephews who were charged
with murder. Because William Dyer was a witness for the prosecution, I
believe there must be family ties.
While quoting the orignial message reminds members on the mail list
what you are answering, at the same time it is causing long messages
that are needless, especially when mime is used. There are individuals
on these mail lists that are charged for time while accessing their

Elisha DIER is listed on the 1820 census of Pendleton C.C. on page
192. If any of you have deed, church, family or other records that indicate
his approximate location in So. Carolina's Pendleton County in 1820, I
would really appreciate hearing from you.
My ancestor, Greene COLLETT (born 1783 NC), was a neighbor in the
1820 census in SC. After 25 years of research, we have not found
a maiden name for Greene COLLETT's wife, Sarah (born 1787 SC),
or names of Greene's parents. An approximate location wou
Hi,
I am looking for information on Asa DYER born 2 Sept 1796 in Weymouth,
Norfolk, MA. He married Betsy Plumber PRATT 9 November 1820 in that same
location. She is the daughter of Joseph PRATT and Nancy DYER.
This couple had 7 children that I am aware of: Elizabeth, Ermina, Asa,
Eliza, Nancy, Mary, and George.
I would appreciate any information that anyone can share.
Thank you,
Monica
I have modified and updated the file on William Dyer of Rhode Island on my web
site "The New England Dyer Connection" (with a lot of input from a fellow Dyer
researcher "AWM").
You can now look at a GED2HTML format, or a 13 Generation Report.

I have been a member of Delphi for a number of years now, and one of the
many features of Delphi is the ability to create, at no charge, a forum to
get people that are interested in the same things together. I have taken
advantage of that and started a Dr. William Dyer forum. A place where all
the people related to, or in my case, trying to prove a relationship to,
Dr. William Dyer of Truro MA. can get together and discuss our progress, of
lack of. You will be required to fill out a form with your name and
What makes you think it's John of KY? I would guess a Dyer in KY is more likely
to have come from TN and/or VA AND is going to MO?? -DD-

Hi:
I'm trying to find descendants of a D. DYER who served in the Union Army
during the Civil War. Mr DYER attained the rank of Captain and served
as Assistant Quartermaster, possibly in the 83rd Indiana Volunteers. I
have come into possession of a document with Mr. Dyer's signature on it
and am thinking that his descandants might be interested in it.

Seeking information on John Dyer bd ca 1723 and died 1822 Washington
County Kentucky. Older children named their first daughters, Elizabeth.
Younger children named their first daughters Mary. I believe John was
married two or more times. John was petitioner for Greenbrier County
Virginia. Marriages of two older sons were to Hurst girls situated in
present day Warren County Virginia.
Kari,
I have a William H. Dyer in my family. He was born in Owen Co., IN in
1854, the son of Armstead Dyer and his first of three wives, Mathilda
Peden. He was the only child of that marriage. However his father
remarried and had five children by his second wife and two by his third.
That could make any young man go seek his fortune after that. I have no
idea what happened to him after his birth.

I'm researching my g-grandfather John Elmer Dyer who lived briefly in Raton,
NM. I got the following from a VERY kind fellow researcher who lives in
Raton, and thought I would post it in case anyone recognises any of the names:
William H. Dyer married Nellie Pearson of Elizabethtown, 24 Dec 1892.
Marriage Book 1, page 83. Witnesses A. S. Richey and E. E. Pearson.
W.H. advertised his brand in the Raton Range of 30 Jan 1885 for the Range:
Vermejo and Red River. He was placed on the Maxwell Land Grant 18
