Hi All,
I have just finished uploading a bunch of pictures of who I do not
know. Some have names but I am not sure where they connect in my
family.
These pictures came from my grandmother and mother who are no longer
around to tell me who these people are. So...If you would care to take
a
look and see if you recognize anyone?!?

It seems to me there is different defination for Dower, and I wish to thank
the people that have sent a reply. Some good people out there!!!! However,
one other thing is it a legal document or what that has to probated or put on
record somewhere in the County. If it is a written legal document how or where
would you go to check and see if there is one on file.
Also, does anyone know where you might get some early Maps of Madison County,
Alabama. Yrs 1810 to 1860.?
Again thanks to so many that has replied
I am searching for information about the Garrett family of Rains
County. The family has been in Texas since the 1840's. My father's
name is David Garrett. My Uncle is Howard Garrett of Bonanza. Thanks
for your time.
Last week there were several messages regarding the family of James C.
Hill of Smith County. As I remember, he had a daughter named Mary, who
married T. C. S. Lee in 1851 - and T. C. S. Lee died in 1859. Does
anyone have further information about T. C. S. Lee, or his ancestry?
Had he been married previously? I'm still searching for the parents of
my great-grandmother, Camely Elizabeth Lee, who was born in Tyler in
1845. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

James and his brother William J (also known as Jacin or Jace) were born in GA
to a J. and A. Morris who had children born in AL and MS before settling in
Claiborne Parish LA by 1860. James and William remained close throughout
their lives and had daughters who married Richards men and lived in Shelby and
Panola Counties in the later 1800's, and into this century. My
greatgrandfather was JL Morgan Richards who was a gunsmith who supplied most
of the weapons used by area lawmen and made good enough moonshin
The above couple were my ggg-grandparents.
Aaron Burr Ashworth was born Abt 1803 in SC and died Dec. 1863 in Orange CO.,
TX. Mary Bunch Ashworth was born 1810 in KY and died Abt. 1884 in Orange, CO,
TX.
Sometime after Aaron died Mary filed for the pension of Aaron Ashworth as
surviving widow of soldiers of the Texas Revolution and it was granted.
This is family knowledge passed down but I have no confirmation. If someone
could tell me who to contact to verify this I would be very appreciative.

Why aren't Clinton White House staffers given coffee breaks?
It takes too long to retrain them.

Would greatly appreciate info about Jesse R. Jones, b. Abt. 1788 in South

at same site.
I have no information about Jesse other than what I have listed. He is my

I would also like to know if anyone is familiar with the Jones-Kyle
Cemetery. I seem to remember reading that it is located on private
property. Does anyone know where it is located a

Even though I copied and pasted that address, I checked it when the message came
back to me and I had trouble getting through to that page.
I tried this one and it did come up.

I have two Martha Stone's in my family tree, but it doesn't appear to be the
same one that you have.
One was born 12/1856 in Cherokee Co, TX, died 1/7/1929 in Smith, TX. She
was married to James N Shuttleworth. Her parents were George Washington
Stone and Pheroby Elizabeth Cadenhead.
The other one, we believe to have been born in Smith Co, Tx. We don't have
a date. Her parents were Wiley Franklin Stone (b. 1873, d. 1939) and
Frances Gray.
I am looking for the BARCLAY & MILLER Families from Tyler County, Texas.
It appears that the MILLER family was only here for a short time, between
1870 and what looks like 1878. George Isaac MILLER married Mahaly V.
BARCLAY daughter of Anderson BARCLAY and Sarah PRATHER.
I have also found that the MILLER Family came to Texas from Minden
Louisiana.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, everybody,
Let's really make an effort not to let this get out of hand. It could so
easily become a long, protracted off-topic debate. Somebody sent some stuff
to the list that was definitely off-topic, and she has apologized publicly.
It was an accident, it was not intentional, the best thing that all of can
do is not comment further on it.
I have been incredibly busy with the final stages of moving to East Texas,
but I have been aware of a number of off-topic messages that have come
through, and hav
