Hi,
Edward Edwards was born in England sometime before 1865, and came to the US,
where he married Dorothy Elizabeth McQuision (or McQuiston), probably in
Pennsylvania. Edward was a railroad engineer and was killed about January
1883 in a train wreck in Penn. His wife was 7 months pregnant, and she went
to Kansas with her 3 brothers to live. The child born was a daughter, May
Florence Edwards, born according to Census records, in Colorado. May
married into the Vaughan family in Madison County, Arkansas.
I have found a diary of my grandmother Ina May McConnell b1887 KA in
it the says James william McConnell b 1836 Marshall Co Tenn married Mary
Emiline Edwards b 1850 Maury Co Tenn -She was the daughter of Edom
Edwards b NC and Betsy Ann Leonard -Edom Edwards was the son of Edom and
Mary? If any names are familiar please let me know.

Hi Rose
Firstly Edwards was a very common name in Cornwall but lesser so today.
There are at least two quite distinct families that I know of in Cornwall,
and probably more.
There is one family which is on Scilly Isles, and around Penzsance, and the
other (mine) in the St. Austell/Launceston Registration Districts.
Many people, more knowledgeable than I have written of the name. Maybe
someone on the list may care to give a rehash.
In my family we have gone back to the 17th Cent. in Tywardreath - 300+

AZARIAH EDWARDS b. VA--1769
Washington County, PA census--1800
Jefferson County, OH census--1820, 1830,
Died in Cadiz, Harrison Co., OH in 1859
He and wife Hannah had 12 children: Phoebe, Rebecca, Maria, David,
Azariah Jr., Susannah, Nancy, Mary, William, Rebecca, and Hannah.
There was also a David Edwards listed in tax records in 1806, 1807 in
Jefferson Co., OH. I think he might have been Azariah's brother since one of
his sons was also named David.
This is all I know about him, I don't know where
I am interested in contacting researchers of the Edwards line of Broome
County, New York, in the Binghamton area. Specifically the ancestors of
Arthur Lawrence Edwards b: ca 1902.

Edwards family story that we have always heard. Our Edwards family was
said to have sold Manhattan Island. I don't have much, but here it is:
