5. [EDWARDS-L] NICHOLAS EDWARDS - Rutherford County Early 1800s [1]
I believe that either the Nicholas Edwards (b. 1794) in Rutherford County (census index 1810) or the Nicholas Edwards Sr (also Rutherford County census index 1810) was my ancestor, and was the person who married Susannah Howell (Howe) in 1809; and that they lived there until after the birth of four of their children: Eliza, Clarissa, George, and Eldridge, before moving to Washington County, IL where he died (about 1818). I am trying to learn anything I can about these people before their arrival in Te

I'm also chasing Edwards from NJ ---- and I think they were there in the 1700s until the about 1830, or so. My gggrandparents were Ira and Phoebe Gildersleeve Edwards. They were both born in about 1803 --- in Essex, NJ???. He died in Onondaga NY in 1863, and she died in Michigan in 1868. >From their days in Onondaga, the family is fairly well established. A family tree from the 1920s lists his father as one John Edwards, also the son of John Edwards. If any of this sounds at all familiar, I'd be happy to sh
8. [EDWARDS-L] RE: EDWARDS of Northumberland and Schuylkill Co PA [1]
Hi John, I've spent a good bit of time trying to untangle all the Shamokin/Mount Carmel area EDWARDSes, but I can't find anything on this guy. You don't say how John P. is connected to you, so I don't know what info you can easily find by a phone call to a relative. But because of the time period in which he lived, I would suggest the following right off the bat: ~ order his death certificate ($3 or $4) to get his parents' names and his birthplace ~ get his obituary for names of siblings and other deta

Moses Edwards and his family moved to Clermont County, Ohio and interested parties might wish to check him out. He said that Moses followed his friend, Matthias Denman, to Bethel, Clermont, Ohio. > >Further, those interested in Ohio and KY:
21. Re: [EDWARDS-L] Edwards in Tennessee [1]
Dear Debbie, Looking at the Muhlenberg and Hopkins Co. references, I can't help but believe your Edwards family is related to the Edwards family I keep trying to find from Christian Co. I have a Martha Jane Edwards who m. John Fleming in 1774 in Christian Co. All I have found thus far is that there was a William Edwards in Christian Co. as far back as the 1799. I am almost positive that this Edwards family came from the Thomas Edwards line who married Isabelle E. Downing . Several of them went to Kentuc
